What you'll do...

The Business Operations organization at Walmart Connect is the connective tissue of the organization and stands at the center of the Walmart Connect team.  We work across teams to drive cross-functional alignment and enable growth and scalability of the business. We are the internal problem solvers of the organization, the swiss army knife team, and we lead and drive strategic decision-making and execution of strategic initiatives across the entire company.

The Director of Business Operations – Business Management will:

  • Drive operational efficiency of WMC and enable revenue growth through people, process, policy, and tools/systems
  • Serve as the core liaison between Walmart Connect business partners and shared corporate teams, including HR, Talent Acquisition, Internal Audit, Controllership, and Legal. Partner with those organizations to drive processes efficiencies and growth of the Walmart Connect business. This includes:
    • Solving complex business issues end-to-end through a combination of insightful analysis, consensus building, project management
    • Driving initiative execution within these domains through program management, leadership, analysis, problem solving and whatever is needed
    • Providing executive leadership updates and escalating issues to leadership, when needed
  • Own and drive workforce management
    • Build, own and maintain workforce management processes for headcount to allow for efficient hiring, reporting, planning
    • Drive analysis of headcount and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency
    • Develop and lead university full-time and intern programs within WMC
    • Support HR with strategic workforce and talent related projects
    • Develop hiring / recruiting strategy for WMC and marketing program to support recruitment
  • Own and drive Audit, Compliance, and Business Process projects for WMC, including (but not limited to):
    • Oversee the SOX readiness program for WMC by collaborating with internal business owners and facilitating control assessments
    • Drive additional WMC audit projects and manage cross-functional teams to ensure execution and compliance
    • Develop plan and drive processes to achieve external accreditations, including MRC
    • Ensure policies and internal controls meet audit and compliance standards
  • Own and drive Systems Business Management
    • Partners with the Advertising Business Systems (ABS) team in engineering to drive automation within business processes and enable scale for WMC
    • Drive prioritization framework and help drive prioritization of automation business needs across all functions
    • Gain cross-functional and leadership alignment on the roadmap & prioritization of automation initiatives
    • Support testing, change management, training, and deployment of ABS systems & tools within cross-functional teams
  • Own and drive WMC Ad Policy
    • Develop ad policies from a brand and legal perspective
    • Gain policy alignment and own enforcement
  • Build productive and positive relationships across the organization at all levels to drive influence.
  • Build & manage high performing team, provide mentorship and leadership
  • Be game to take on anything else fun that comes up

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • 12+years relevant work experience in Management Consulting and/or Business Operations
  • Digital advertising or media experience a plus
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical and quantitative skills (left & right brain)
  • Super strategic but also able to be in the weeds as needed
  • Superb ability to manage, communicate and work with C-level executives
  • Ability to strategically structure and use frameworks to break down complex problems into clear steps and plans
  • Extensive experiencing managing and leading a team, including managing managers
  • Proven experience leading and managing large cross-functional projects and teams
  • Detailed oriented and organized with ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects
  • High EQ skills and ability to communicate clearly with all different types of people
  • Exceptional follow through and process management skills
  • High level of accountability, proven ability to take ownership
  • Self-motivated and extremely proactive
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change
