(USA) Designer Lead - Global Technology Platform

About the Team

Continually manage the Platform portfolio capabilities to support Walmart's evolving needs. The platform Product Management team drives the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle processes for delivering scalable solutions to business and developer community of the Global Technology Organization.

As part of the Global Technology Platform Product Management organization, this role will be a crucial enabler of our Developer Productivity Strategy. This designer lead will own the execution of the user experience design of a comprehensive developer portal that will serve the needs of the developer community in managing the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment. You will work collaboratively with product management and engineering teams to ensure on time delivery with quality results.

You'll make an impact by:

• Executing User Experience strategy and innovation by evaluating the current competitive landscape for compelling experiences for developer communities; and presenting information within and across the organization to gain strategic alignment and encourage change.

• Creating the user experience designs (including user interface design comps, visual design specs, prototypes, wireframes) for our next generation portal for developers

• Leading initiative-level projects by leading project design definition activities; driving creation of designs and specs; presenting designs to project and business teams for review; and working with Engineering leads to determine the effectiveness of solutions.

• Structuring and delivering user experience design consistency across software design efforts in collaboration with Engineering Architects by formulating project needs and measures of success

• Leading cross-functional team projects by establishing and communicating project needs and measures of success; directing cross-functional collaboration activities.

• Driving continuous improvement of User Experience tools, documentation, and process by maintaining holistic viewpoint when tackling project decisions across the portfolio

• Strategizing & conducting usability testing, user research, and competitive analysis

• Implementing business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

• Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

Minimum Qualifications...

• Bachelor degree in Design, Visual Arts, Human Computer Interactions, or a relevant field

• Familiarity in top design concept and prototyping tools (Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD, FIGMA, Zeplin, etc.)

• Strong communication skills in discussing and communicating design concepts with internal teams and external stakeholders

• Strong portfolio of completed design projects

• At least 6-8 years of UX/UI design experience

Preferred Qualifications...

• Master's in Design, Visual Arts, Human Computer Interactions, or a relevant field

• Business know-how: Understanding of business metrics and the ability to translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences

• Experience in working in technology organizations and with the developer community
