What you'll do...

Join Walmart, the #1 omni-retailer in the world, and its fast-growing Marketplace business and team.

The Marketplace business is our third-party seller business on Walmart.com.  It is already large, growing rapidly, and a top-three strategic priority for the company.  We enjoy a scrappy, startup culture and environment – but with the resources of the Fortune #1 company.  Come help us grow this critically important business to Walmart.

Responsibilities
 

  • Acquire new Walmart Marketplace sellers, particularly SMBs, (1) directly through inbound marketing strategies and tactics and (2) indirectly through lead generation for outbound business development / sales teams.
     
  • Strategize and plan by (1) defining the total addressable market, segmentation, and targeting; (2) understanding seller needs and developing positioning and messaging; (3) prioritizing potential digital and traditional marketing tactics across owned, earned, and paid media; (4) identifying enablers such as budget, people, and technology; (5) documenting, creating a roadmap for, socializing, and aligning partner organizations around a holistic acquisition marketing plan.
     
  • Plan, test, measure performance of, optimize, and scale digital and traditional marketing assets, campaigns, messages, and programs to acquire new sellers.
     
  • Partner with (1) our Brand, Content, and Creative team to develop assets and campaigns; (2) our Product Management / Technology teams to define requirements for, prioritize, and build marketing technology capabilities; and (3) our Walmart Connect and Walmart Fulfillment Services teams to co-market to prospective new sellers.
     
  • Share lessons learned and performance results from campaigns and programs.
     
  • Build, lead, and develop the seller acquisition marketing team.

Qualifications
 

Functional
 

  • Marketing Strategy – Previous experience developing acquisition marketing strategies and plans, ideally for acquisition of SMBs.
     
  • Digital Marketing – 6+ years broad expertise in and practical, tactical experience with digital marketing channels and tactics, including affiliates, display, SEM, paid social media / social media, desktop / mobile Web, YouTube, etc.
     
  • Traditional Marketing (Ideal) – Previous experience with events & trade shows, print / radio / TV, and sales collateral.

Domain

  • Ecommerce / Retail (Preferred) – Previous experience in ecommerce / retail.
     
  • SMB (Preferred) – Previous experience with marketing to SMBs.

Skills

  • Optimization Orientation – Strong bias towards testing, measuring, and optimizing marketing assets / content & creative, campaigns, programs, and tactics.
     
  • Collaboration – A natural disposition towards and ample experience building and developing relationships, communicating frequently and transparently, establishing and improving operating cadences, and working constructively and productively with others.
     
  • Communication – Clear, concise written and verbal communication.
     
  • Leadership – Previous experience building, rebuilding, growing, and developing teams; creating a collaborative, open, productive environment; and setting and holding individuals accountable to objectives & goals.
