Essential Responsibilities
Serve as the lead of the Accounting and Finance Development Program (AFDP), designed to advance young professionals through four, six-month rotations in various finance, accounting, and strategy roles across the various Walmart segments
Partner with Corp Functions Campus Program Lead to align with people processes, governance and frameworks where appropriate.
Partner with Corp Functions Campus Program lead on yearly review of program ensuring a best-in-class, current and competitive experience. Provide updates to and seek advice from AFDP Advisory Council as well as CFO’s Executive Leadership Committee
Partner with Campus Recruiting and Corp Functions Campus Program Lead to coordinate annual performance assessment and salary planning and review
Working with people teams, review performance and reward practices as well as analyze costs and incorporate into business plans
Serve as the finance domain partner, coordinating finance curriculum based on the functional competencies and program strategy and objectives
Provide mentoring and coaching to program participants throughout duration of program as well as onboarding of intern/rotation managers
Coordinate prioritization of intern and full-time rotation assignments and matching, ensuring alignment between rotations and capability development strategy for program talent
Lead and coordinate, in partnership with people team, placement process for program graduates
Coordinate intern project showcase(s) and ongoing performance feedback, i.e., end of summer reviews for interns and end of rotation assignments performance calibration and feedback
Partner with Campus Recruiting team to finalize intern offer recommendations, extend offers and sell candidates.
Partner with Campus Recruiting and People teams to develop the recruiting strategy and coordinate resources across Campus Recruiting, AFDP alumni and current cohorts to support the recruiting process
Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships and networks in partnership with broader Campus Recruiting and Attraction teams to communicate brand and benefit of program(s); partnering on key community outreach and involvement initiatives as needed to represent the finance leadership community
Work with education institutions to advance the course curriculums and student support services. Create partnerships with faculty and administration to support excellence
Demonstrate adaptability and sponsor continuous learning
Lead discussions with varying viewpoints. Presents to and influences diverse audiences across divisions using appropriate frameworks/tools. Leverages fact-based data and analytics insights from multiple domains to build a cohesive narrative, organize thoughts, and present in a clear, concise, and meaningful way.
Demonstrates decision-making and coordination skills when faced with conflicting or ambiguous inputs.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, or related field and 5 years’ experience in project management, finance, operations management or related area OR 7 years’ experience in project management, finance, operations management, or related area
4 years of experience leading cross-functional teams
Experience working collaboratively with business partners and corporate support teams to drive strategy execution for high priority, high profile initiatives, owning development and reporting of key program KPIs to ensure total company objectivity and maximize customer experience and shareholder return
Experience supporting mentorship, workforce development and leveraging the capabilities of new AFDP talent
Experience overseeing the development of short-term and long-term strategic program planning by partnering cross-functionally to assess overall goals
Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines
Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
Detail and results-oriented with sense of urgency
