Position Summary...
What you'll do...
Lead the U.S. Federal income tax audit practice for Fortune 1. In addition, this position will also support the Global Tax Controversy Center of Excellence by providing controversy audit expertise and insight on complex globaltax matters,support global tax audit risk analysis, support the development of responses to global tax authority inquiries, and assist in communication and resolution of key tax matters on a Fortune #1 global scale.
The Director Global Tax Controversy will primarily be responsible for the oversight and management of all aspects of federal tax controversy matters. The Candidate will also beresponsible for building and maintaining relationships between Walmart, Inc. and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS); developing and executing audit plans, framing, interpreting, and responding to IRS requests; conducting scope assessments of complex domestic and international tax transactions and, determining information needed to support complex domestic and international transactions and providing documentation to support transaction activities. And equally as important, the Director should possess a history of successfully negotiating a wide range of matters before the Internal Revenue Service, including compliance with IRS procedures and policies to negotiating proposed tax adjustments.
In addition, the successful candidate will also lead the federal tax controversy team on tax audits and appeals, and support our positions in tax litigation matters, including the development of protest and defense of tax positions, appeals hearing, litigation strategies, drafting and reviewing legal agreements and court documents, management of outside counsel, and negotiation of final audit settlements.
Collaborating with other areas within Walmart tax as well as with Walmart counsel and local-country tax teams outside the United States; and serving as a tax liaison with different departments.

- You have the following: Master's degree in Tax, Juris Doctorate (J.D.), Master of Laws (LL.M.), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), 4 years' experience in international tax
