The Spark Good vision is to engage customers and associates through an omnichannel platform to support their community, starting with charitable activities (e.g., financial and in-kind donations, volunteering).  The Director will work with a cross-functional team to design, test, and scale tools, engage nonprofits in design, and develop a value proposition for customers and nonprofits.  Successful candidates will combine creativity and passion for impact with a commitment to analysis, structured thinking, and critical problem-solving skills.  An entrepreneurial spirit, understanding of the philanthropic space, and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion will help you stand out.   

You’ll make an impact by:               

• Shaping and implementing shared value approach to the Spark Good value proposition for customers and nonprofits
• Working with customer experience, engineering, and product teams to deliver a high-quality platform for nonprofits and customers
• Leveraging analytics to refine the value proposition, test new approaches, and drive large scale adoption of the Spark Good platform
• Engaging a multitude of external parties – from technology start-ups to large nonprofits – to design a unique and valuable experience
• Serving as an ambassador and champion of a new tool, driving excitement and commitment across the business, for this work
• Representing Walmart.org on working externally and industry events
• Contributing to the success of Walmart.org’s overall work, with an emphasis on our engagement with local communities

A successful candidate for this role must have an ability to design and innovate strategy, as well as help create structure and influence people to effectively manage complex implementation day-to-day.

• Influencing cross-functional business teams through communication, partnership and consultation, including defining objectives, key principles, issues to resolve and accountabilities.
• Working with communities in need, but also understand structured interventions for both short- and long-term outcomes.
• Understanding the philanthropic sector, with an emphasis on how it is changing and how to build greater support for local initiatives
• Understanding trends and issues related to how technology and/or new power is being leveraged to create social change
• Conducting complex analyses to inform strategy and track results
• Building capacity of internal and external stakeholders and partners
