What you'll do...

Walmart Media Group (WMG) is seeking a seasoned Business Analyst to support our efforts at enterprise transformation connecting teams from omni-merchandising, marketing and media to act as One Walmart. We need a rockstar that have a solid understanding of merchandising, retail analytics, and how to gather the right info to drive business outcomes. This critical role will foster integration and high-fidelity understanding between WMG and the emerging Omni-Merchant organization. The ideal candidate are intellectually curious, analytical, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented self-starters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics and data analytics with a deep understanding of retail industry. Deep knowledge and experience of Walmart is a big plus.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct retail sales analysis to support WMG's business decisions
• Gather data using internal and external tools and synthesize it to tell a cohesive story
• Juggle a list of urgent and important requests, investigations, and analyses and prioritize by business impact
• Provide guidance to WMG Sales team by analyzing and mining retail data to identify areas of opportunities and gaps to support their work with omni merchants
• Partner with WMG Sales and Sales Operations to establish reporting processes and tools to ensure alignment and consistency
• Pull appropriate data and prepare reporting in support of external advertiser key meetings and negotiations
• Pull appropriate data and prepare reporting for internal planning sessions and to support cross-functional business cases
• Be the data master and WMG's source of truth across all of Walmart's business units within Merchandising
• Partner with Data Governance to ensure proper use and sourcing of information; partner with WMG Analytics to stay abreast of current methods and tools
• Attend weekly Merchandising department meetings and partner with Merchandising Operations
• Teach and mentor others on how to use Walmart's retail data systems to help grow their business acumen

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 years' experience working with retail data, preferably Walmart data
• Deep experience pulling data from multiple sources, creating reports and dashboards in Excel, Tableau and/or Looker, and delivering it to cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes
• Strong written communication, presentation and EQ skills
• Problem solver and ability to roll up sleeves to get things done
• Ability to perform and adjust to a constantly changing, ambiguous environment
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working within Walmart's Merchandising org
• Experience working with Walmart internal data systems
