Manager I, Supply Chain Management - Walmart Intermodal, Pricing Analyst

This role is part of the Supply Chain Management team, reports to the Director, Supply Chain Management, and is based in Bentonville, Arkansas.

What you’ll do…

• Demonstrates up-to-date expertise, critical thinking skills, and strong financial acumen in order to effectively price existing and potential lanes for Walmart Inbound networks, with primary focus on Walmart Intermodal backhaul; leads and informs bid process with prepaid suppliers through collection and analysis of preliminary rate and volume data;  responsible for oversight of new accounts in order to maximize profitability using yield management techniques as well; continually review contracts and schedules for accuracy; supports Backhaul Admin team with data and recommendations for customer business reviews;  understands current transportation industry trends and market conditions in order to make effective pricing decisions; supports Backhaul Admin pricing team as needed  
• Manage pieces of the supply chain process and  ensure merchandise flows through the distribution network and fulfillment centers by directing resolutions and responding to escalations of daily issues while analyzing data to streamline and improve network efficiencies
• Improve supply chain execution by determining a flow path channel from supplier to store to best fit sales, in-stock, and profit metrics while collaborating between supply chain stakeholders to ensure goals are achieved
• Assist with field-level direction and provide guidance for the execution of operations by acting as a liaison for the field; communicating operational expectations to suppliers and transporters; and addressing performance related issues with stakeholders
• Manage process improvement efforts by contributing to the design, development, and delivery of new ways of working between supply chain stakeholders, including prioritizing plan objectives, ensuring achievability, managing correction of error process and feedback loops, and identifying areas of opportunity
• Support the use of end-to-end costing methodology and lean concepts by providing cost recommendations to reduce process waste and provide opportunities for cost reductions and process efficiencies
• Coordinate, complete, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs

What you’ll bring…

• Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field and 1 year’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation or related area OR 3 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area.  2 years experience working with Microsoft Office.
• Preferred Qualifications:  Fleet Management, Dispatch, or Network Analysis, Pricing/Finance, Retail Logistics Operations

• Have a strong financial acumen
• Have previous transportation pricing/yield management experience
• Enjoy working with big data and have ability to boil it down to concise, key insights
• Have high proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and other technical tools (Alteryx, PowerBI, Looker, Tableau, etc.)
