Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Our general accounting and reconciliation governance teams work closely with controllership to ensure balance sheet accuracy and the overall health of the Walmart financial statements.  This role will focus specifically on ensuring reconciliations are performed in accordance with controllership policy while also working to identify areas of high risk by using data analytics to determine drivers of upstream issues that contribute to financial exposure. 

You’ll make an impact by: 

• Performing detailed financial analytics to identify material drivers of risk in the financial statements
• Developing indicators to identify risk more quickly in the balance sheet
• Creating cross functional partnerships between our global controllership teams, finance teams, operations teams, and technology teams to develop strategies to address process/data related issues
• Developing plans to address/mitigate for high-risk processes when identified and leading programs across multiple teams from design to implementation
• Connecting the operations and financials through data and insights

You’ll sweep us off our feet if… 

• You have strong experience in finance and/or accounting and enjoy data analytics
• You have a proven track record in implementing, researching, or analyzing complex financial processes
• You possess exceptional judgment and the proven ability to understand and present significant matters in a concise, coherent manner to key stakeholders.
• You are comfortable with ambiguity and making findings of fact, capable of interfacing with Walmart’s business platforms to present investigative findings and identified risks.
• Are curious in nature and enjoy solving problems/puzzles

Other Requirements:

Location: Based in Bentonville, AR, Dallas, TX, Reston, VA, Charlotte, NC, or San Bruno, CA

• At least 3 years experience in finance, accounting, auditing, or financial data analytics
• At least 1 year experience leading and engaging a team; developing strategies, and setting goals
