Walmart Intermodal is looking for top talent to join the organization. The Walmart intermodal team is seeking entrepreneurial minded, solution oriented, creative problem solvers to help build this program. The ideal candidate has in-depth analytical skills, with the ability to use data to make informed decisions and create buy in from stakeholders. This Manager will influence across the organization; including but not limited to executing on business strategy plans, providing cost reductions and process efficiencies, and analyzing the impact and benefits to internal processes.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to lean into their peers and internal and external stakeholders. This is a high impact team with great visibility from executive leadership at Walmart.

  • Plan, prioritize workload for multiple regional areas of responsibility
  • Short term event planning to meet customer demands
  • Develop operations KPI’s for on time delivery to customer
  • High level reporting on pick up and delivery performance
  • Partner with systems team on Intermodal solutions platforms
  • Work cross functionally on operational execution
  • Work with chassis provider on usage and short term operational needs

An ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Statistics or related field area OR 5 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area
  • 2-5 years’ experience with advanced functionality of Microsoft Office
  • Proven experience in establishing and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers
  • Experience in fostering strong customer relationships via delivery on commitments, open communication, and on-going feedback/improvement
  • Ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement
  • Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
  • Exceptional follow-up skills and ability to analyze workload and plan accordingly
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Ability to work well cross functionally
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, effectively manage stress, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill

An ideal candidate would exceed our expectations with

  • Experience in managing intermodal and rail locations is strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry
  • 3-5 years of experience in intermodal operations
