As part of this transformation, we're seeking entrepreneurial individuals to help drive data productization from concept to deployment.
As part of the newly created Data Strategy and Enablement Team (DS&E), this role will be an enabler of our journey to be the world's leading data-driven retailer. As part of this transformation, we are seeking an individual who will be responsible for ensuring the fitness of data for the data enablement, commercialization and data productization needs including both sources and services, activities across the DS&E team to elevate our data commercialization activity as well as the internal processes to support data products.
We are looking for a highly motivated, resourceful, team-oriented individual to drive the data stewardship process. You will be leading the data discovery process, data lineage, data quality and other data management efforts for internal and commercial datasets through multiple data acquisition and implementation efforts using various data management tools and methodologies. You will also be involved in evolving the foundation of Walmart Data as a Strategic Asset, and responsible for curation of the data, and maintaining quality internal and external data assets, including defining and adhering to processes, policies, guidelines for acquired data tobe in compliance withpolicy and/or regulatory obligations.
The Data Steward role will report to the Director, Data Enablement.

Work withdataengineers, stewards, quality engineersand product managers toensure data best practices are designed and implementedproactively.
Curate documentation and lead training sessions to facilitate end user support
Oversee the life cycle of a data from acquisition to publish and retention
Defineand implement policies and procedures for the day-to-day operational and administrative management of systems and data
Responsible for establishing data-quality metrics and requirements,
Establish guidelines and protocols that governthe proliferation of data to ensure that privacy controls are enforced
Collaborate across business community to inform and implement acquisition strategy
Create resilient, and sustainabledataanalysisprocessand Data Quality Rules.
Be adata-orientedStewardcreating and experimenting with new ideas that will engage and excite our customerswhile ensuing product specific data acquisitions needs are delivered.
Who you are:
You haveprior experience withrole of data steward andmeta-datamanagementacross a variety oflargedata systems, including data discovery, data lineage etc.
You have deep understanding ofcommercialdata sources and understand database concepts and terminology
You have a demonstrated trackrecordof handling multiple complex sourcing projects anddelivering resultsin thedatamanagementarea
You have strongSQLexperience andexperience with various data management, governance and curation tools
You are a team player, with the courage to drive change through disruption while maintaining a respect for the team
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience in data and analytics area in Retail industry
Experience in managing data assetsfor external data partnerships and productization
Experience withmanaging business catalogs and metadata for large data sets
Experience with data management and governance toolssuch as Collibra,Paxataand technical digital finger printing tools
5+ years of prior experience inend-end data managementusing manual andtool-basedmethodologies
3+years' experiencein Datadesignandmodellingincluding traditional and big data systems
Strong understanding of data design techniques and principles
Strong leadership and communication skills
Must be able to work effectively both on teams as well as be self-motivated, task oriented and organized.
Strong customer focus and obsession with quality
Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment
