What you'll do...

As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will be the owner and driver of several complex programs, forming a portfolio of efforts to meet the business goals that support the strategic vision of building the Walmart Commerce Platform

  • Create the program structure and shared alignment with the program team across Walmart on vision, business goals, program, and secure cross-functional teams dependencies' commitment

  • Lead executive committee meetings with key stakeholders to help make key decisions, remove obstacles, and address key program issues

  • Provide on-going visibility to program status (key decisions, dependencies, issues, risks, metrics, etc.) to all stakeholders

  • Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent program teams from delivering on program outcomes.

  • Manage new and existing technologies integration

  • Create a collaborative team environment that fosters creativity, speed, innovation, and learning

  • Be a thought leader who can help accelerate the capabilities delivery and challenge others to change

About the team
Walmart’s eCommerce Platform team has a strategic vision which is grounded in delivering one integrated platform that every Walmart business can build upon to participate in the Walmart eCommerce ecosystem. What is a Platform, exactly? In the physical world, it means “something you stand on top of to make you taller”. In technology, it means something similar: software you build on top of, so you can create new things more easily. A platform accelerates you precisely because it is opinionated: someone else has made many choices for you so that you can build things faster. We make it easy for our technology partners to create digital experiences online and in store for our customers and members

You’ll sweep us off our feet if…
 

  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset that focuses on putting the customer first

  • Bachelor's Degree or master’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 10+ years of Program Management experience in a related industry (experience owning a program/product/feature, scoping requirements, planning milestones, project management and working with technical teams)

  • 7+ years of experience leading software development projects with aggressive schedules and large business impact

  • Strong communicator in both verbal and written forms and are equally adept in communicating upwards, outwards, and downward

  • Experience with designing scalable APIs & cloud native microservices.

  • Lead executive committee meetings with key stakeholders to help make key decisions, remove obstacles, and address key program issues

  • Experience with agile development methodologies (i.e., Scrum, Kanban etc.)

  • Provide on-going visibility to program status (key decisions, dependencies, issues, risks, metrics, etc.) to all stakeholders

  • Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent program teams from delivering on program outcomes

  • Strong Experience with project delivery for large, cross-functional projects

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • A passion for data-driven decision-making

  • Managing relationships with geographically distributed teams, offshore development teams, and third-party vendors

  • Ensuring business and global technology goals are being met

  • Interacting, negotiating, and influencing decisions across multiple tracks and executive leadership
