About Store No8 

Store N°8 is the incubation arm of Walmart focused on emerging trends and technologies. We pursue opportunities where transformational impact is found and our name pays homage to Walmart’s eighth store where founder Sam Walton was known to experiment. Our goal? Enable Walmart's business and help make the lives of customers and associates better, one leapfrog capability at a time. 

This stealth team within Store Nº8 is paving the way for extended reality applications in the retail space creating productive and entertaining immersive shopping experiences.

This is the opportunity to get in early with a stealth project currently developing in Walmart's Store No8 incubator.  At Store No8, the team will discover and deliver capabilities for the future of how we engage with technology and people, through the unparalleled scale of Walmart’s platform.

What You’ll Do 

As Principal Technical Program Manager (Chief of Staff, Extended Reality) you play a critical role in bringing this initiative into existence. You will support and drive the operational activities required for project growth, operations, and strategy. You will manage small and medium sized strategic initiatives and support procurement, resourcing, strategy and execution. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will partner with several functional business partners including tech, engineering, product, and legal teams. You will need to be a self-starter with bias for action and excellent communication skills.  

Scope and lead small to medium size projects to help our stealth project achieve their business goals; projects may include product strategy and development, organizational design and gap assessments. 

  • Actively monitor project risks, scope, and dependencies, and help remove identified barriers 

  • Communicate important project findings to senior leadership 

  • Support partner teams on regular strategic planning, forecasting and performance management processes, including definition of critical metrics and development of dashboards to track business performance; report findings to team leadership to inform strategy and decision-making 

  • Monitor operating plans, ensure timely reporting to leadership, support budget development and develop forecasts 

  • Support the development of tactical and operational cadence in goal setting, roles and responsibilities, processes.

 What You’ll Need  

  •  6+ years of experience in a Strategy & Operations and/or strategy consulting role 

  • Background in software Product Ops a plus 

  • Experience managing relationships and working directly with executive leadership 

  • Background in project management, including large-scale implementations incorporating input from numerous stakeholders at all levels

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to senior business audiences

  • Strong positive, results-oriented mindset and willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to succeed in any task 

  • Self-motivated, creative, confident, and energetic personality with strong organizational skills and the ability to think strategically 

  • Experience managing cross-functional projects, and familiarity interfacing with software development teams 

  • Leadership, team management, relationship building, organization, and planning  

  • BS degree is preferred
