Position Summary...
What you'll do...
The Creative team at Walmart Connect partners with the top brands in the world to produce executions that are audience-led, insights-driven, measurable, on-brand, and ultimately lead to a memorable experience for the end-user. We create an optimal user experience by designing creative solutions that will be useful and delightful while also delivering against a brands' objectives/KPIs.
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and optimistic individual who is passionate about advertising and able to transform creative concepts into thoughtful, brilliant work for our advertisers. You will be focused on a specific vertical (i.e., Food, Consumables, Entertainment, etc.) working with various advertisers to create compelling omni-channel campaign work from concept to final execution. This role is right for you if you are a strategic + innovative thinker, have an ability to build and maintain professional relationships, possess strong writing chops, and effective time and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and shape our brand voice and tone across display, video, mobile ad environments, and evolving our brand guidelines.
Work collaboratively alongside our agency partners and our internal copy team to solve headline and subhead problems in strategic ways.
Articulate the thinking behind copy concepts to key stakeholders.
Ensure consistent application of the online brand and brand voice.
Schedule and lead bi-monthly TBs to discuss goals and projects.
Review & provide feedback w/ Art Director.
Handle any copy issues such as hard push backs & internal escalations.
Coordinate scrums & white board sessions with Art Director and/or Creative Director.
Collaborate with AD about changes in process, new updates, and brainstorming concepts.
Conduct 1-on-1s with other Copywriters to elevate their personal development.
Oversee & manage Copywriters while mentoring them.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in English, Writing, Advertising, Journalism or related field and 5 years experience in a copywriting role.
Strong point of view on creative ideas and ability to promote conceptual thinking.
A solid understanding of writing creative, effective ads.
Organized, detail-oriented self-starter that can juggle multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years' experience working with creative agencies and/or internal teams.
4 years' experience concepting and writing small-to-mid-scale interactive campaigns in an online creative or related digital field.
Experience managing or supervising copy teams in a retail creative environment.
