Our team is responsible for transportation productivity and long-range planning.  Some of the questions we answer are:

• What should Walmart Transportation look like 3-5 years from now?
• How should we position our Private Fleet to better enable omni-channel growth, provide reliable service, and be a competitive advantage for Walmart? 
• How should we invest in and deploy capacity, assets, infrastructure, and real estate to enable 3-5 strategic plans?
• If volumes increase/decrease by XX%, how does that change the portfolio of business the Walmart Transportation hauls?
• If third-party rates increase/decrease by XX%, how does that change the portfolio of business the Walmart Transportation hauls?
• As our omni-channel footprint changes and grows, what freight should Walmart Transportation haul?

What you’ll bring…

Curiosity and ownership mindset to understand the business problems beyond the task or data

Analytical capabilities to rootcause opportunities and storyboard visualizations to deliver actionable insights

Financial acumen to connect the findings to the levers of the P&L and ultimately the bottom line results

Data accuracy and a habit of sense checking numbers through triangulation from multiple sources

Cross-functional leadership and basic project management skills to mobilize organization

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Tableau / Power BI

You’ll sweep us off our feet if you…

Have Supply Chain or Six Sigma experience

Have high proficiency in SQL and Power BI

Have built sustainable financial models, automatically refreshed dashboards or Power BI semantic data models

Have exposure to supply chain network modeling, optimization or centroid analysis

Have other advanced analytic skills like Python or R under your belt

You’ll make an impact by…

• Advanced Analytics: Enable in-depth investigation of key drivers of transportation dynamic optimization and data quality. Work with large, disparate datasets to measure business KPIs and to conduct strategic analyses to inform critical business decisions. Develop data visualization to monitor and quantify the impact of changes and unique business challenges and use data to influence strategic decision making.
• Modeling: Develop and run models that address business questions around workload optimization and strategic growth of Walmart Transportation while analyzing and communicating the impacts to service and cost. Leverage data analysis tools to explore and process complex data.  Manage data inputs for modeling/simulation software execution and conduct in-depth analysis of modeling/simulation outputs. 
• Communication and Influence: Engage with team members and cross-functional partners on a consistent basis and establish credibility and influence change. Drive process optimization and collaboration across the organization. Analyze stakeholder needs and partner with them to share relevant information. 
• Continuous Improvement: Analyze and improve processes by leveraging lean, six sigma, and zero-loss principles. Identify opportunities to positively impact cost and growth plans, and influence incorporation into long-range plans.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. Option 2: Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Option 3: 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
