More about the Role: The International Data Governance team is responsible for being a center of excellence for the Walmart international markets.  We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our International Data Governance team to help build a strong foundation for gathering and using data to make the most informed decisions. We are looking for someone who is as passionate as we are about understanding the user and how they interact with our business to best serve their needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop control structures within a simple environment to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels.
• Provide thought leadership and participate with projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes.
• Ensure controls are in place over applications to ensure the data integrity by performing data integrity gap analysis.
• Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with the business owners and IT.
• Work with business partners to understand in market data privacy needs and how to best protect our customers and associates.
• Lead other more junior associates while being an individual contributor with the most difficult and important tasks.

• Strong analytical and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate facilitation skills with the ability to drive issues to closure.
• Self-motivated and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision or questions.
• Ability to deliver a high level of customer service.
• Ability to write various documents such as functional requirements.
• Ability to compare technologies and make recommendations to senior members of the team.
• Understanding of privacy laws and regulations.

Preferred experience

• Experienced mentor guiding more junior team members
• Experience in a data governance program in a retail environment
• Experience with GDPR (Europe), POPI (South Africa), PIPL (China), ARCO (Mexico), and/or awareness of Canada’s upcoming privacy laws.
• Experience with Collibra or other Data Governance Tools

Option 2: Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Option 3: 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
