Job Description

Data Strategy Requires knowledge of: Understanding of business value and relevance of data and data enabled insights / decisions; Appropriate application and understanding of data ecosystem including Multi-tenant Architecture, Data Management, Data Quality Standards and Data Governance, Accessibility, Storage and Scalability etc; Understanding of the methods and applications that unlock the monetary value of data assets. To understand, articulate, and apply principles of the defined strategy to routine business problems that involve a single function.

Data Source Identification Requires knowledge of: Functional business domain and scenarios; Categories of data and where it is held; Business data requirements; Database technologies and distributed datastores (e.g. SQL, NoSQL); Data Quality; Existing business systems and processes, including the key drivers and measures of success. To support the understanding of the priority order of requirements and service level agreements. Helps identify the most suitable source for data that is fit for purpose. Performs initial data quality checks on extracted data.

Data Transformation and Integration Requires knowledge of: Internal and external data sources including how they are collected, where and how they are stored, and interrelationships, both within and external to the organization; Techniques like ETL batch processing, streaming ingestion, and API; Data warehousing service for structured and semi-structured data, or to MPP databases such as Microsoft Azure, or Google BigQuery; Pre-processing techniques such as transformation, integration, normalization, feature extraction, to identify and apply appropriate methods.  To extract data from identified databases. Creates data pipelines and transform data to a structure that is relevant to the problem by selecting appropriate techniques. Develops knowledge of current data science and analytics trends.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an adept, architecturally minded Senior Data Engineer to design and build out a multi-tenant data architecture to increase customer insights for personalized service and call centers to optimize operations.

The perfect candidates will have strong data infrastructure and data architecture skills, a proven track record of mentoring and scaling data teams, strong operational skills to drive efficiency and speed, strong project leadership, and a strong vision for how data engineering can proactively create positive impact.  You’ll split your time between unblocking team, vetting their designs, and coaching them to realize their full potential, while also building things yourself.

The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, support, and maintain data processing architectures and solutions enabling the efficient transformation of structured and unstructured data into data products and insights for Contact Center Tech (CCT) organization. The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with InContact, Cisco, Core Data Fabric (CDF), and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) subject matter experts (SMEs) to extract, transform, and load internal and external data into new and existing data models for advanced analysis and business intelligence reporting.

The Senior Data Engineer works with data from internal and external sources utilizing cloud and on-premises environments. Develops and supports automated processes that clean, organize, and transform data into data products, insights, and actions that enables the CCT organization to move data more effectively.  Makes decisions on moderately complex to highly complex data issues regarding technical approach for project components within the team's data and reporting framework. Contributes to more innovative approaches to the organization's data assets as they build knowledge of the CCT organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Science, or similar field
• Experience developing complex queries, data modeling, and extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes in SQL, Python, Java, or similar technical languages
• Proficient using ETL platforms like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SSIS, EDW, Azure Synapse, Tableau Prep, etc
• Proficient in implementing Data Mesh, Data Fabrics, Data Warehouse,
• Experience transforming structured and unstructured data
• Knowledge of how to flow streaming data (Kafka/Spark)
• 5 or more years of technical experience
