About the Team

Our team is evolving the way Walmart, Inc. actively listens to and engages with any audience - customers, members, associates and more. Through our proprietary suite of feedback technologies, we connect our businesses to any audience around the world. We are a cross-functional team of survey methodologists, data scientists, designers, engineers, and product managers. Our shared mission is to power both customer and associate research at scale to enable Walmart to build better experiences, services, and products.

At Walmart, our customers and associates are at the center of all our efforts, and design research is one way we observe and listen to our users to make sure we are designing the best experience for their needs. As a Senior Design Researcher, you will elevate the voices of our customers and associates to help support our strategic vision. If you are motivated to help teams make data-driven business decisions, being a Senior Design Researcher could be the fit you've been looking for.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Leading the implementation of customer research programs, projects, and capabilities.

  • Driving the execution of multiple business plans, programs, and research projects.

  • Working quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality and knowing how to adapt to the ever-changing priorities of the business.

  • Staying up-to-date with the latest industry news and developments.

  • Contributing to team processes and standards to help establish best practices for research.

  • Adopting an ownership mindset over scaling and governing customer feedback capabilities and having accountability for program success and results.

  • Having strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Partnering with product teams to provide feedback on survey platform feature builds and feature product road map.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g. data engineering and data science) to build end to end research programs.

You'll sweep us off our feet if you have...

  • Demonstrated success in implementing and leading complex, cross-functional research programs and capabilities in a highly matrixed organization.

  • A strong working knowledge and extensive experience with sampling techniques, survey design, and research methodologies, and how to apply them in a fast-moving organization.

  • A Master's Degree or higher in Business, Market Research, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Applied Statistics, Behavioral Sciences or related field.

  • The ability to work without close supervision but you seek out and welcome feedback from senior leaders and managers.

  • A team player who can collaborate with teammates from different technical backgrounds.

  • The ability to produce great work in short timeframes, multi-task across different projects and platforms and adapt to the ever-changing priorities of the business.

  • Strong communication skills to coordinate between internal business partners, research vendors, product team, and etc.

  • Impeccable attention to detail, and solution driven mindset

  • Experience in a supplier-side research firm, or working knowledge of customer panel research is a plus
