The Senior Director, Programs, Strategy, and Business Development, Apparel Division, at Walmart will lead efforts to identify, explore, shape and implement strategic opportunities to accelerate Walmart’s Apparel business, foster internal and external collaboration, and partner with leadership to drive key initiatives. Reporting to the EVP of Walmart Apparel Division, your goal is to transform the face of Apparel at Walmart.

Responsibilities
The Senior Director, Programs, Strategy and Business Development will be a key member of the Apparel Leadership team and will play an integral role in identifying, prioritizing, crafting, and incubating programs and strategic opportunities within the Apparel Division at Walmart. This position reports to the EVP, Apparel Division and will work closely with leaders in Apparel Merchandising, Private Brand/DTC Teams, Store Operations, Site Operations, Marketing, Corporate Development, Legal and other Walmart Home Office corporate teams.
Chief of Staff: Acts as agent for Executive Leadership.
Oversees overall portfolio of initiatives and projects by attending key meetings and representing executive leadership in those meetings; use key relationships to promote and align on initiatives, resources, roadmaps, and project schedules; lead special projects on behalf of Apparel's executive leadership. Assess requests to prioritize executive leadership's involvement; prepare executive leadership for initiative reviews and meetings; collaborate with key stakeholders to optimize and ensure alignment of strategies and initiatives; drive review and alignment of Apparel initiatives with enterprise objectives and strategies.
Serve as a liaison to and represent executive leadership in internal and external key meetings to push business goals and strategies; evaluate and drive improvements to operational processes; review measurable outcomes and use these outcomes to determine gaps between current and desired results; and identify and capitalize on continuous improvement opportunities.
Transformation Program Office: Lead and execute Apparel transformation program initiatives including apparel merchandising, customer experience, marketing, and customer insights. Layout and maintain action plan and work with respective owners and teams to ensure transformation initiatives are implemented successfully. Develop communication strategies that facilitate the flow of information between key stakeholders; partner with corporate communications on strategies for internal and external communication as needed.
Apparel Strategy and Meetings: Support EVP of Apparel Division in crafting and articulating Apparel’s enterprise strategy. Partner with Customer Insights and NPD to diagnose real‐time and future business opportunities and deliver responsive strategies. Lead the 3‐year strategic planning process. Create presentation materials for major meetings, including LRP/AOP, All Hands, Officer meetings, etc.
Business Development and Management: Manage and negotiate partnership terms for strategic ($5M+) and vertical partnerships and manage on‐going relationship of key partnerships (e.g., Sofia Vergaro, Brandon Maxwell, ThredUp). Assess and prioritize new business models to support the broader Apparel Division strategy (e.g. creation of exclusive brands, subscription/rental services, try before buy). Incubate and test key initiatives. Assess customer need, evaluate and prioritize opportunities, develop business case, identify operational requirements, design organizational structure, identify partners and negotiate terms, and establish go‐to‐market process. Develop and maintain Apparel brand materials and direct pitch process for top‐tier apparel brands ($2M+).
M&A: Craft investment thesis to guide Apparel Division acquisition strategy. Proactively identify and assess potential targets. Support Corporate Development Team in preparation of executive materials and provide due diligence support during M&A process. Prepare executive materials to regularly assess performance of Apparel acquisitions for Walmart acquisition review meetings.

Preferred Qualifications
MBA and/or JD preferred
15 years of relevant work experience; at least 4 years of experience at a top tier management consulting firm or investment bank
Experience working in a fast‐paced working environment
Experience in Apparel/Fashion, eCommerce and/or retail strategy preferred
Interest in Apparel/Fashion a must
