What you'll do...

Senior Manager I, Business Continuity and Resiliency Planning

Join the Business Continuity and Resiliency Planning team as the Senior Manager I, Business Continuity and Resiliency Planning at the No.1 Fortune 500 Company & world’s largest retailer.  This is a key role in Business Continuity and Resiliency Planning and will oversee and drive continuity planning efforts on a Global level for Walmart Inc.  The successful candidate will report to the Director, Enterprise Resiliency Planning. 

As a member of the Enterprise Resilience Planning team, the Senior Manager I, Business Continuity and Resiliency will manage a portfolio of planning entities, lead new program implementations, perform maintenance activities (business impact analysis, strategy development, exercise design and facilitation, training events, risk management and mitigation) and occasionally participate in crisis management response and recovery activities.

The Senior Manager I, Business Continuity and Resiliency is a program management position that will be responsible for communicating with and presenting to executive leadership around the world as you drive resiliency efforts for the world’s largest retailer.

You’ll sweep us off our feet if:

  • You build strong relationships with cross-functional partners
  • You understand complex business continuity processes and deliver actionable solutions
  • You have experience implementing and maintaining global business continuity programs
  • You have a professional understanding of BIA’s, Strategy Development and Exercise Design
  • You are self-starter and comfortable with critical decision making in uncertain situations
  • You understand Risk Management principles and how to identify risks related to Business Continuity
  • You have knowledge or experience with business continuity and emergency management technology tools
  • You are an effective and clear communicator at all levels of an organization

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Being a trusted advisor: Develop strong and trusting relationships as a Resilience Business Partner working across the organization to solve issues, address pain points and implement strategies which increases overall resilience of the organization.
  • Overseeing business performance: Lead annual and quarterly business planning and performance tracking activities for your portfolio. Conduct deep dive analysis on issues impacting performance metrics and implement corrective actions.
  • Producing compelling presentations and training: Develop and deliver clear, cohesive, and skillful communication regarding crisis management and business continuity planning. Have an innate ability to understand audience, identify appropriate moments for candor and leverage layman approaches when necessary.
  • Working cross-functionally: Collaborate with Executive Sponsors, Program Stakeholders, IT Disaster Recovery and Emergency Management partners to deliver best-in-class resilience solutions.
  • Working Autonomously: Use a proactive approach for finding value add areas. You will be responsible for managing the resilience of your portfolio with limited supervisor oversight

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in emergency management, social sciences, government, communications, business, or related area and 3 years’ experience in emergency/disaster management, business resiliency, emergency procedure protocols, specialized crisis planning or related area. Option 2: 5 years’ experience in emergency management or related area.
3 years’ experience implementing and maintaining business continuity, training, or exercise programs.
