The Sr. Manager I Data Science, Supply Chain Automation & Innovation, will lead various projects that deliver immediate and future strategies across Walmart’s end-to-end transportation product. The Sr. Manager I will be primarily responsible for leading advanced analytical modeling & business intelligence development - working across product management, user experience, engineering, and business teams to influence product design strategy and capabilities. He/she will support our transportation product roadmap with the goal of continually raising the bar to improve our holistic customer journey.

Position Summary

You will learn the art and science of Product Analytics at an unsurpassed scale with the largest retailer on the planet. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams such as transportation, engineering, inventory management, fulfillment operators, and retail teams. Your key responsibilities will include -

  • Product Analytics - Ensure product & data decisions are intimately tied, advocating for the role product analytics plays in entire product life-cycle. Operationalize data by building requirements, defining experimentation frameworks, measuring KPIs, and providing insights that drive product design decisions
  • Modeling: Participate in the full life cycle of statistical or machine learning model development, which spans from business problem discovery, data discovery to model deployment and monitoring
  • Business Intelligence: Develop tools to measure product & feature launches, communicate product diagnostics, and visualize key performance indicators
  • Thought Leadership: Serve as product data evangelist, seeking to continually improve ways to best leverage data to solve complex problems. Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and industry best practices in the Product Analytics space 

About You

  • You understand supply chain technology and operations, whether in Retail eCommerce environment or similar industries
  • You learn and adapt quickly, and are excellent at working on multiple cross-functional projects concurrently
  • You have excellent data modeling skills
  • Creative thinker: you think about finding the best solution that will work in days, instead of the perfect one that requires weeks
  • You understand what it means to “own a project”. Passionate and attentive self-starters, great communicators, amazing follow-through

Your Qualifications

  • Proven analytics skills, and 3 years of experience in quantitative analysis. With advanced knowledge of common tools such as Excel and SQL
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau

Option 2: Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3: 6 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
