Senior Manager I, Global Communications - Corporate Affairs (Translation Services)

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The Senior Manager, Global Communications will be integral to Walmart’s drive to be a more inclusive company, by translating a myriad of content from English to Spanish for Walmart Corp. and Walmart U.S.  Content could range from messages by CEO Doug McMillon to specific tasks and processes for stores.  Join us, as we begin the journey to build this muscle to better support our Spanish speaking associates in the US!   

You’ll make an impact by**:** 

• Translating all documents sent by the different departments located in the Bentonville Home Office and related sources. Work must meet the highest standards of accuracy, consistency and style while adhering to Walmart's quality levels.  

• Proofread, edit, and revise the work of other translators if required. 

• Work on the internal terminology used by the Translation Department and create a common lexicon to ensure consistency. 

• Maintain an adequate speed (sense of urgency) and volume of output, taking into account the difficulty of the text and the specified deadline.  

• Work on specific projects, new requests and ongoing (operational) requests. Interpret videos and other spoken-word media as needed for Spanish-speaking associates. 

• Carry out research and work closely with requesters on any questions related to their project. Get feedback to improve the quality of the translation/interpretation. 

• Develop a good understanding of the Walmart business and Retail Business overall to support with the messaging.  

• The applicant must have a Bachelor of Art degree specialized in translation

You’ll sweep us off our feet if: 

• You have 3+ years of translating experience from English to Spanish  

• You’re an ATA Certified Translator 

• You’re comfortable working directly with speech writers for leadership for timely/near real-time translations activities  

• You have experience with SDL WorldServer, or applicable translation tools 

• You’re organized, disciplined, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously
