About the Team

On the Customer Experience Engineering team at Walmart - USTech, we provide technology to power shopping journeys that help hundreds of millions of customers live better – be it busy families getting groceries easily, new parents welcoming a new baby, organizing a new home or anyone planning a fun party. We strive to create the best shopping experience anywhere anytime, meeting customers’ evolving needs and expectations. 

We are looking for experienced engineers to help design and improve the way customers shop by building highly throughput scalable Technical Program Manager to support tier 0 core platform services that power customer’s journey across Walmart sites and mobile apps.

Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager, you will be the owner and driver of several complex programs, forming a portfolio of efforts that are geared towards achieving the business goals of different market segments. You’ll be working with a variety of engineering products responsible for the movement of items across the network and to our customers. These technologies are at the apex of scale in collaboration with engineers, technical product managers, operations, and business stakeholders.

  • You have a knack to build consensus and alignment across different models, varying priorities and multi-disciplinary, yet integrated teams.
  • Have the ability to step in to lead critical projects based on emergent business needs as well facilitate early discussions to scope new projects.
  • You constantly seek to as establish and lead operating processes and tools for effectively managing the portfolio.
  • You lead the technical discussion with conviction, be a subject matter expert and have strategic influence.
  • You will translate the product roadmap into integrated high-level plans that are aligned with the business goals of the programs, as well as roadmaps of underlying cross-functional engineering teams.
  • You will represent the overarching portfolio with all stakeholders, provide inputs and insights into each component and workstream.
  • You will provide crisp status and communications to enable fast and effective escalations and decision making that allow the organization to react and adjust to changes
  • You will facilitate the effective flow of new asks from the business, apply prioritization and change management principles effectively, with minimal disruption to roadmaps.
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, related fields or equivalent practical experience.
  • Cross-functional Program Management experience working among several groups.
  • Experience working with technical teams. Interest and ability to learn other technical areas as needed.
  • Problem-solving and organizational experience and experience operating autonomously across multiple teams.
