What you'll do...

  • Manage the resolution of business issues by reviewing data ; determining needed solutions that fit local needs and can be leveraged across the region; following up with stakeholders to obtain information on unresolved issues; and collaborating with cross-functional teams regarding support for solutions.
  • Drive change initiatives by identifying and defining desired change and processes; validating value and priority; driving project plans to implement processes; assessing readiness for change; managing expectations; adjusting approaches to have change adopted by the entire organization; and ensuring timely project management from pilot to the execution stage.
  • Manage the development and implementation of process improvements to improve business results by overseeing evaluation and execution of multiple projects; directing in consultation with leadership regarding solutions; reviewing reports; leveraging customer and operational needs across the division to identify barriers and obstacles that impact performance across the division; and benchmarking competitors' programs.
  • Provide recommendations to senior management by reviewing feedback; assessing risks ; collaborating with cross-functional partners to develop program enhancements; managing the reporting and communication of key performance metrics; ensuring alignment across functional units; and communicating strategic direction to key stakeholders.
  • Direct the development, prioritization, and execution of key business strategies and communication by leading cross-functional initiatives that impact store and corporate processes; overseeing the development of business programs and initiatives, customer and company communications, and associate training content.
  • Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.
  • Promote and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.
  • Ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events

Additional Job Description:

The Senior Manager II will deliver effective executive leadership and product support to one product portfolio in the Walmart US Product organization.  The Associate will be responsible for advising an executive and the respective team on alignment with enterprise and product strategy, adhering with product ways of working, developing presentations for key stakeholder meetings, leading cyclical planning activities, and advocating for best practices in product management.  The Associate will liaise with the Product Support Services team on new initiatives, ensuring the portfolio leader and team are actioning new requirements effectively and timely.  The Associate may represent the leader and/or the team in critical meetings with key product partners, including business, technology/engineering, design, finance and human resources. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the Director on providing guidance on product management initiatives, including but not limited to strategy development and execution, product portfolio planning, product reviews and roadmaps, cyclical planning activities (e.g., annual budgeting, headcount planning), and cross-functional collaboration with peer product groups
  • Develop and execute portfolio-level Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) and quarterly OKR review process for product portfolio leader and team
  • Collaborate with the Director on supporting all product alignment meetings with stakeholders, including but not limited to recommending the agenda, developing executive-level presentations and tracking outcomes, in concert with product portfolio leader and team
  • Support governance processes across products and capabilities, facilitating necessary conversations with intersecting portfolios
  • Act as strategic advisor to the product portfolio leader, sharing insights and recommendations based on observations of the team and other product groups
  • Collaborate with the Director to drive effective decision-making, prioritization and alignment across the portfolio, and support the same between portfolios
  • Champion product methodologies, new frameworks and best practices to all Associates, engaging resources from the centralized Product Support Services team as needed to provide in-depth explanation, training and support
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to portfolio leader and team on opportunities to mature, advance and improve internal ways of working
  • Manage all product portfolio reporting, including weekly product summaries, monthly OKR status and quarterly business reviews
  • Work in concert with the Director to strategically align with the Product Support Services team on best practice approaches, providing feedback and identifying opportunities to further collaborate across the portfolios across the entire Product organization
