What Does the Risk & Insurance Team Do?

Part of the Treasury & Capital Markets Department, we are an agile, high impact, and highly collaborative team working across all geographies, engaging all parts of the business.

  • Build Dynamic Global Insurance Programs (portfolio strategies and procurement for D&O, Cyber, Property, General Liability, Work Comp, Cargo, Political Risk, Employment Practices, Crime, Aviation, Environmental, Captives, and Surety)
  • Support M&A, Corporate Initiatives, and Business Development (provide key insights, frame strategic options for key stakeholders, and enable the business via insurance products)
  • Perform Risk Assessments and Analyses (identify and measure insurable risks/opportunities, analyze market trends, exposures, loss control and safety policies, and implement solutions that help optimize operations)
  • Create Executive and Strategic Communications (internal and external communications including Executive Committees, Market Leadership, Broker, and Underwriting Meetings)
  • Manage High Value Complex Claims (partner with internal and external counsel, and wholly owned TPA on multi-million complex matters including single plaintiff and class action lawsuits)

    • Ability to direct and work with brokers to deliver product line renewals in line with strategy
    • Thorough understanding of policy language/ability to make suggestions to improve wording when needed
    • Understands layered, quota-share, and various self-insured insurance structures
    • Engages with TPAs, legal counsel and forensic accountants to deliver quality claim results
  • Self-starter
    • Drive cross-functional projects; identify goals, success criteria, assumptions, own discovery of project requirements through deep subject matter expertise, resource requirements and timelines.
    • Manage and deliver on multiple/diverse large projects
    • Collaborative and able to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Relationship building and influence
    • Can build strong relationships within operating units and peers alike; leverages trust and empathy to influence and drive outcomes without formal authority
    • Collaborate with partners across multiple geographies to achieve beneficial working relationships and positive outcomes across international markets
  • Communication skills
    • Leverage fact-based data & analytics insights from multiple perspectives to build a cohesive narrative, form a perspective, organize thoughts and present in a clear, concise & meaningful way
    • Ability to storyline a message and present to leadership audience
  • Financial acumen and business judgment
    • Comfortable with financial statements; able to partner closely with finance, accounting & controllership teams
    • Able to understand key strategic decisions and connect with downstream effects to the broader business context
  • Leadership and influence
    • Coach and support associates and stakeholders to develop their understanding of our business to deliver improved services, solutions, and relationships

    • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Legal, Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
  • Thorough understanding of insurance policies and best practices of risk management
  • Proven experience in a risk & insurance setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of insurance and risk management experience

  • CRM, ARM, or CPCU designation

  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
