Our Private Brand Apparel business at Sam's Club is a critical factor of why our members both join and renew their memberships. You'll be responsible and be the point of contact for all product development decisions across Apparel. You'll be responsible for growing private brand sales with emphasis on quality and customer experience for the Apparel business online and in-store to increase loyalty and conversion with the customer.
You'll need to keep a pulse on trend and innovation and want to be first to market versus the competition. You'll be responsible to work with cross functional team member's including a Merchants, Sourcing, Quality and brand team.

As aSenior Product Manager of Apparel,you will lead apparel development, provide innovation and focus on quality to drive profitable growth, develop robust partnerships with suppliers, and use vision and creativity to impact the customer experience. You know your supplier and customer needs better than anyone else and are constantly thinking about what is next for your business. You'll use your executive presence to work with suppliers and cross functional team members at all levels and navigate interesting, complex challenges.

Builds and achieves strategic objectives and initiatives to optimize lower prices by ensuring cost goals are met to remain competitively positioned; developing timelines with cross-functional teams (for example, Brand Marketing, Merchandising); collaborating with Consumer Insights to test products; negotiating product specifications with the Merchant team; working with Brand Merchandising Managers to understand the critical needs of the Private Brands program; and supporting and driving corporate sustainability initiatives that help drive cost and waste out of the supply chain.
Selects and monitors suppliers for Private Brands programs by supporting cost negotiation with suppliers; working with merchants to ensure program will meet margin objectives; reviewing and assessing current supplier performance through an annual scorecard; monitoring the supplier matrix and product sourcing associates to ensure appropriate suppliers are selected; developing periodic audit plans to ensure quality; maintaining knowledge of total cost for pre-production to manufacture and ensure quality standards; sending strategic communication based on speed to market and supplier execution; and identifying and driving improvements in global procurement integration and execution.
Provides general and area-specific technical support to the Private Brands team by developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external resources; responding to product inquiries (for example, nutrition, performance criteria, food safety); advising other business areas (for example, Sourcing, Quality) regarding product development (for example, supplier selection, product and packaging specifications, evaluation parameters, member needs); developing product specifications; and ensuring that appropriate tolerances are incorporated into product specifications which balance member needs with manufacturing constraints.
Identifies and develops business opportunities for the Private Brands portfolio by analyzing the Private Brands portfolio; monitoring and evaluating competitor and industry products; recognizing, analyzing, and prioritizing product opportunities; contributing to the product development infrastructure by identifying and recommending infrastructure tools (for example, facilities, product evaluation protocols) and improvements; and identifying and engaging companies to perform services. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.
