What you'll do...
Assist the Global Tax Controversy Team and Global Tax Controversy Sr. Director in supporting Global tax controversies, tax appeals, and tax litigation. This position will provide expertise and insight on complex global tax matters and global tax positions, develop responses to global tax authority request about those positions, and assist in communication and resolution of key tax matters on a Fortune #1 global scale.
The Senior Mgr. II Global Tax Controversy will provide expertise on complex International and cross-border tax matters and will assist in building and maintaining relationships between Walmart, Inc., our foreign market tax teams, and various Foreign Tax Authorities. The candidate will assist in the implementation and execution of foreign audit plans; framing, interpreting, and responding to tax authority requests; and the creation and negotiation of audit strategies to advocate Walmart's best interests. You will also conduct global risk assessments of complex foreign and cross-border tax transactions, and the assembling of necessary documentation to support the transaction activities.
Global collaboration will be key for this role, both outside the U.S. and within. So, the candidate will have opportunities to work with Walmart's Counsel and serve as a tax liaison with many different departments. In addition, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to assist the U.S. federal audit tax team, including the development of tax positions defenses, appeals hearing preparations, litigation strategies, drafting and reviewing legal agreements, management of outside counsel, and negotiation of final audit settlements.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field and 4 years' experience in accounting, tax audits, tax planning, or related area OR 6
years' experience in accounting, tax audits, tax planning, or related area.
2 years' supervisory experience.
