About the Team

At Walmart International Technology, we are focused on delivering a delightful shopping experience for customers across all markets by building and leveraging cutting-edge technology solutions. The Omnichannel Operations team is instrumental in realizing this vision, as we build critical services that power the experience across customer's entire shopping journey, including product promotions, add-to-cart, checkout, and payments. We want customers to shop whenever, wherever and however they want, and the Omnichannel Operations team delivers products that form the backbone of this experience.

About the role

The Senior Product Manager in Omnichannel Operations is responsible for define customers' future ways of shopping across stores, e-commerce, and other channels. As part of the Walmart Global Tech family, you will have a wealth of cutting-edge technology solutions to leverage from, while devising new innovative solutions for each international market with unique customer needs.

Technical competencies

  • Driving customer needs: Researches and verifies customer needs and expectations; delivers customer value within the parameters of profitability and other targets; builds and maintains consistent customer connections and solicits customer feedback; creates customer journeys and identifies customer touchpoints; addresses gaps/risks in product experiences; simplifies and improves processes to drive customer satisfaction.

  • Product vision and strategy: Owns a simple customer problem and/or product requirements/needs; assists in building new ideas/products; explores new focus areas/unchartered areas for value creation leveraging first principles and develops an long-term vision; articulates problem statements and hypotheses; guides team members towards prototypes; effectively communicates product strategy and vision and the unit economics of a product; understands the need for go-to-market strategies and levers for user adoption.

  • Product roadmap and development: Builds and owns a simple product roadmap with proper phasing; communicates with cross-functional partners and stakeholders; explores alternative avenues to identify resources while navigating through organizational constraints and dependencies; builds stakeholder alignment; independently (or with minimal guidance) manages backlog/priority tradeoff decisions and communications; manages product/feature rollouts and scaling (using an MVP approach) and iteratively optimizes the product.

  • Data driven product decisions: Supports data analytics for a product/feature; supports data collection and evaluation within assigned areas (for example, acquisition cost, conversion rate, adoptions, active users, feature usage, user churn, net promoter score, satisfaction, lifetime value).

  • Influencing and building stakeholder consensus: Communicates in one-to-one/stakeholder meetings involving one-two teams; proactively builds professional network; articulates results/recommendations; actively listens to others and acknowledges different technical perspectives and connects to the product/technology in development.

  • Technology orientation: Demonstrates an understanding of InfoSec policies and process. Owns business and user acceptance testing for simple products/features; independently represents technology requirements and drives technology design outcomes; demonstrates an understanding of product architecture, services involved, and the database and cloud technologies used; leverages knowledge of competitor products/services for assigned products; drives informed discussions with engineering teams and stakeholders to assess feasibility and risks and prioritize efforts, features, and capabilities.

  • In-depth domain expertise: Demonstrates awareness of various principles, ways of working, and subdomain-specific terminologies; compares the maturity of products, services, and processes within the subdomain with others in the industry; identifies gaps across subdomains and reports gaps for potential innovation opportunities; demonstrates awareness of new processes and automation techniques used within the domain across industries.

  • You have a keen interest in understanding customers in international markets, by studying the regional market trends and competitive landscape, and launching products at scale

  • You have knowledge in retail tech, and omnichannel shopping experiences

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferable.

  • 3-5 years' experience in product management, management consulting, retail, eCommerce business functions, or related fields.

  • Experience in identifying key metrics, conducting rigorous explorative data analysis, and in building business cases that drive decision making and business prioritization.

  • Data driven mindset with a degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Economics, Statistics or Mathematics.

  • Sound business judgment as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements, and prioritize.

  • Must be able and willing to think and act strategically and tactically.
