As a Senior Software Engineer and part of Sam’s Club - Club Operations Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and building a ground-up transformation of how our hundreds of clubs are managed. You will be responsible for integrating data sources across business intelligence, supply chain, inventory management, and other systems into an event driven architecture used to proactively manage resources throughout the club. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, product, UX, and other engineering teams to build a world class solution.

What you’ll do:

• Develop, test, and deploy cutting edge real-time systems impacting millions of associates and members nationwide
• Work with engineering management, Product Management, and Business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Collaborate with other senior members of the team and other development teams to gather requirements and participate in design discussions
• Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver awesome products
• Mentor junior developers and help the team grow in technical skills

Your Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Java / Spring back-end applications
• Understanding of event driven architectures and patterns
• Understanding of enterprise integration architectures and patterns
• Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases
• Proficiency with SQL of moderate to high complexity
• Experience with unit testing Java applications
• Experience deploying applications to cloud platforms and/or Kubernetes
