Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

You’ll be successful in this role if you have….

• Working with data at the petabyte scale.
• Experience designing and deploying high performance distributed data processing systems (batch and streaming) with reliable monitoring and logging practices.
• Evangelize high quality software engineering practices towards building data infrastructure and pipelines at scale.
• Lead data engineering projects to ensure pipelines are reliable, efficient, testable, & maintainable
• Design our data models for optimal storage and retrieval and to meet critical product and business requirements.
• Continuously learn and keep up to date with emerging technologies to evaluate impact to business and member value
• Further the engineering culture of the team. Supervise to ensure that the team develops well-designed, well-engineered, stable, scalable cloud-based applications. Implement engineering best practices, striving towards excellence and raising the bar within the department.
• Extensive experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing complex applications
• Passionate about writing clean, well-organized, and production-ready code for highly scalable applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of end users and technical resources, including executives
• Experience with, or willingness to learn:
• Event-driven architecture and messaging frameworks (Pub/Sub, Kafka, and/or RabbitMQ)
• Cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform, AWS and/or Azure)
• Distributed containerized pipelines (Airflow, Kubernetes, Docker)
• RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, Informix etc.)
