Staff Software Engineer- Full Stack Software Development

We are looking for a Staff engineer to add to our Digital Transformation Services team within our Enterprise Business Service area. This role will technically lead a team of 7-9 software developers, set standards and best practices, lead design and architecture, and raise bar for software quality. You will partner with Technology Solution Leads, business partners, product owners to analyze business problems and requirements and produce optimal solution. Our solutions are often coupled with machine learning and knowledge of high-level machine learning is a big plus. This role will also be interacting with information security, cloud provisioning and other teams that set standards within Walmart. This role is expected to work across ML and product teams, be able to communicate effectively across technical teams, run proof of concepts and never shy away from stating their own opinion even though it may sound adverse in a specific circumstance. We value engineer who have data-oriented approach to making decisions.

• T-type knowledge base, broad technological exposure and experience and thorough and deep understanding of few technologies. Open source and/or Microsoft development stack is highly desirable.
• You are always looking for patterns, be able to connect dots. Business problems do not come in silo.
• Enjoy 2-way communication with stakeholders, be their trusted partner
• Look at multiple solutions, tactical, strategic and anything in between
• Broad technology outlook, open to experimentation, fail fast attitude
• Paint a big picture, not just solve a problem but how can a solution be utilized again

You'll make an impact by:

• You will create software design and architecture for next software solution. This will be your channel to communicate your ideas with rest of the team. Not just one but evaluate multiple solutions
• You will analyze competing requirements and articulate tradeoffs and lead discussions with business and development team, leading white board sessions with team.
• Be advocate of best practice, be it code, test, or DevOps. Experience in establishing such practices
• You will help create reference architecture that fits Walmart's tech ecosystem
• Data based approach for proving point and making decisions

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related field OR 6 years' experience in software
