About the Team

As a part of the Intl. Emerging Tech Team, you will work with world class engineers, product owners, and designers to solve problems in various parts of the business (merchandising, supply chain, store operations, eCom etc.) using emerging tech systems. You will think constantly about the potential futures, the implications for Walmart, the right technology, and the right architecture to scale. Then you will implement it!

You will architect and build industry defining reusable customer and partner facing services and products to drive differentiated experiences and revenue. You will be in the unique position to be of service to both our customers and our associates as a member of this organization supporting all international segments of Walmart. You’ll make an impact by:

• Partnering with our Product & Design teams to deliver on team’s objectives.
• Architecting scalable solutions based in learnings from quick prototypes
• Bringing Passion to ideate, plan, and build new emerging tech solutions.
• Translating project requirements into technical solutions, gathering requested information (eg: design documents, wire frames, architecture diagrams), writing and developing code, conducting unit testing, communicating statuses/issues with team members, troubleshooting.
• Conducting industry and competitive analysis to understand new technology offerings and tradeoffs.
• Developing and enhancing products – you will determining technical needs based on the defined problem and product roadmaps, inform rollout strategy, and manage risks. Measuring results of tests.
• Defining vision and strategies for your initiatives, using domain expertise, internal and external best practices, identifying opportunities, building proposals for improvements. Defining best practices across internal tech teams
• Building collaborative relationships with key partners to strike a balance between features and tech debt.
• Providing overall direction for the product and manage the TCO end-to-end.
• Be hands-on in building next gen platforms and solutions, and determining the path to scaling.
• Creating a safe culture for team members. Championing Walmart’s values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering degree required/Master’s a huge plus!
• 8+ years in software/hardware/network engineering, emerging technologies and prototyping
• Experience in leading Engineering teams with diverse skillsets
• Data driven mindset with a degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics
• Sound business judgment as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements, and prioritize.
• Must be able and willing to think and act strategically and tactically.
