Introduction:

Walmart Global Technology provides Technology solutions that support Walmart, Inc's business globally. Edge Infrastructure Organization is part of Walmart Global Technology that provides Infrastructure Services across various technology capabilities like Edge Computing, Networking, Global Wide Area Networks, Mobility Solutions (including Enterprise Rugged devices, Bring Your Own Device, and Corporate Owned Personally Managed Devices) as well as managing the associated technology rollout, maintenance, and support projects as part of Edge Implementation and Maintenance team. Walmart operates over 5,500 retail locations in the US and over 11,000 across the globe. These stores and clubs are supported by a supply chain network of over 200 Distribution Centers (DC) and e-Commerce Fulfillment Centers (FC). This complex network of stores, clubs, DCs, and FCs are our Edge location today and operate at a scale that presents unique opportunities.

About the Edge Facility Support Maintenance and Repair team:

As part of the Edge Infrastructure team, this team has responsibilities to manage large contracts and vendor relationships that provide support, maintenance, and repair of the technology solutions at our edge locations driven by various business and technology initiatives. The primary responsibility of this team is to ensure that we have appropriate support structure for the tech hardware at our edge locations. The team manages a very large budget used for maintenance of technology that enables our edge locations to run and operate on daily basis. The team manages vendor contracts, defining terms and conditions in the contracts to ensure service levels are delivered to support our business operations. The team manages supplier performance and implements initiatives to drive process improvements and cost savings.

About the Role:

As part of the Edge Implementation and Maintenance organization, this role is an Individual Contributor role to manage the very large Elevate Program for Support and Maintenance of Store and Club tech systems. This role is a team lead for the Technical Project managers responsible for maintenance and support of IT Hardware across the store and club edge locations. This role addresses operational concerns and addresses vendor service failures. You will need to be able to manage geographically distributed teams, offshore development or support teams and third-party vendors by coordinating internal and vendor schedules and priorities; integrating teams and vendors into strategic initiatives; communicating program status; evaluating system capabilities and ensuring sustainable functionality; ensuring delivery of proper functionality; and managing communications from vendors to internal stakeholders. You will work closely with Engineering teams to partner on solutions, VMO Sourcing / Procurement teams to manage very large value contracts, and Business teams to support their initiatives around Store Innovations and modernization tech solutions supporting those business initiatives. You will need to demonstrate and apply up-to-date expertise to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. You will provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and conducting necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. You will be planning and execution of Supplier performance management initiatives including defining KPI/SLA's, performance reviews, defining and executing improvement actions. You will also be responsible for creating documents for budget management and report to senior leadership across Tech, Finance, and Operations. This role manages a highly complex portfolio of programs executing multiple contracts with multiple vendors; serving as the project lead for multiple initiatives; developing and maintaining a schedule to track milestones; developing and executing plans for managing risk; escalating project or support related issues to management in accordance with project / program guidelines and requirements; managing project and contract change control processes; coordinating production issue resolution; interpreting data to help guide teams towards issue resolution and risk management; making recommendations regarding solutions to problems or issues; and presenting status updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of managing contracts and defining terms and conditions in the contracts.

  • Experience and knowledge in Spend management for a very large portfolio >$500 Mn per year.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in Supplier performance management area including defining KPI/SLA's, performance reviews, defining and executing improvement actions.

  • Experience in managing multiple initiatives at the same time and ensuring on-time and on-budget execution.

  • Knowledge and experience in managing very large programs in Technology Support across a large number of distributed locations.

  • Reinforce customer empathy, build long term strategies and value-driven roadmaps, establish feedback and learning loops, and measure outcomes

  • Demonstrate a passion for details with the ability to ideate and problem solve actively with business leaders, product, and engineering stakeholders

  • Own strategic initiatives and work with a passionate team of Product and Engineering Leaders to deliver outcomes for the Edge Infrastructure Maintenance team

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, related fields, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Minimum of 6 years of work experience in a combination of technology program management, business analysis, or strategy.

  • Cross-functional Project Management experience working among several groups.

  • Problem-solving and organizational experience and experience operating autonomously across multiple teams.

  • Capable of managing multiple stakeholders, anticipating their needs, and gaining alignment for strategies from executive level stakeholders

  • Strong communication skills (oral, verbal and listening) as well as the ability to influence key decision makers and understand their points of view

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and execution skills with the ability to drive results, deliver and excel, and own it when you do not.

  • Comfortable in a fast paced, growing environment and work well with ambiguity
