We are looking for a Strategy Senior Manager to join Walmart Connect’s (WMC) in-house Strategy team and help define new business opportunities. The WMC Strategy team is envisioning the future of WMC and its important role within Walmart. Walmart is the #1 retailer of food and general merchandise in the U.S., reaching 150 million shoppers every week across stores and e-commerce. We have the data to create compelling digital and omni-channel advertising offerings, while staying laser-focused on improving customer experience.
In this role, you will help us formulate the future of retail advertising by hunting and scoping new monetization ideas in our Innovation Portfolio that may be accelerated via partnerships. WMC’s Innovation Portfolio includes concept from our advertisers, associates, and even top Walmart leadership. We will need your creativity and critical-thinking skills to define and evaluate these ideas, so they will build upon our strengths and complement our offerings. You will create compelling business cases, illuminate technical trade-offs, and develop actionable recommendations for WMC. You will also help us become smarter and faster at accelerating Portfolio ideas via partnership over time through repeatable frameworks, consistent processes, and compelling stakeholder communications.

Responsibilities
Evaluate and build strategic partnerships to accelerate new offering’s go-to-market timeline
Evaluate multiple new ideas simultaneously to define what each new advertising offering could and should be, based on cross-functional feedback from across WMC
Discover, define or discard the fundamental business case for Innovation Portfolio ideas; build those business cases with clear understanding of revenue opportunity and positioning to our competitors to drive leadership decision-making
Think deeply about and be able to explain the connection between each innovative idea and the core Walmart Connect growth strategy, as well as Walmart’s customer strategy
Scope the level of effort needed cross-functionally to deliver on Innovation Portfolio concepts and recommend prioritization for WMC’s investment and Product backlog
Collaborate with Finance by providing pricing recommendations, cost, and competitive input to build financial models in multiple scenarios
Develop executive presentations with overview of the offering and recommendations for senior leadership alignment and approval
Create best practices and repeatable frameworks and processes to streamline scoping new ideas added to the Innovation Portfolio
Collaborate with and influence Product, Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Analytics who will help provide the insights and expertise to help you effectively scope and evaluate
Qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience in 2 or more of the following areas: large-scale retail/e-commerce, advertising, innovation, or consulting/investment banking
Demonstrated knowledge of the digital advertising, technology and retail landscape
Interest or experience with emerging technologies and retail or advertising trends
Comfort with ambiguity and experience with scoping new ideas or innovation
Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models
Strong presentation, communication and influencing skills and the ability to interact with executive level business and technical partners
Intellectually curious, high energy, and strong work ethic
Worked in a start-up, early stage, or innovation environment where you defined best practices for your function
