Temporary Layout Specialist II - Sam's Club
What you'll do at
Ensures complex layout drawings are created accurately by using design software (for example, CAD, ProFloor, ProSpace); gathering product image and specifications; utilizing standardized fixtures; ensuring layouts are readable and executable at club level; ensuring the accuracy of layouts based upon recommended space allocations for categories, sub-categories, item placement, design standards, and compliance regulations; reviewing shells or planograms from external sources to ensure accuracy; sending layouts to clubs for which they are designed; resolving all issues with layout designs as needed; and coaching specialists on how to create layouts and helping specialists with difficult or unusual designs. Designs club specific layouts and assists specialists as needed by ensuring category and sub-category space allocation recommendations, category adjacencies, and category strategies are incorporated; utilizing processes and tools for space planning; collecting, measuring, and analyzing floor planning and space productivity data and information from stakeholders (for example, managers, suppliers and buyers); resolving space-related issues to ensure executable layouts within the given space; reviewing and providing suggestions on difficult or complex drawings; identifying process gaps; recommending improvements for departmental processes; assisting in the development of decision trees for executing floor plans and planograms; and preparing space analysis summaries for managers to use in print review meetings or communications to stakeholders. Manages timelines for all club modifications (for example, new, relocation, expansions, remodels, merchandise resets) by coordinating design tasks between key stakeholders (for example, buyers, planners, suppliers, architects, clubs, store planners); ensuring project milestones are achieved; collaborating with project stakeholders; coordinating fixture rollout and merchandise resets; providing communication and supporting club execution; assisting managers with creating timelines; and providing guidance to stakeholders on possible issues regarding timing or complexity of layouts being created. Ensures the ongoing effectiveness and efficiency of the department by communicating with managers on item reporting and space changes; identifying obstacles; proposing solutions to overcome obstacles; ensuring issues are resolved; and collaborating with stakeholders and presenting recommendations and information on space execution. Preferred Qualifications: 2 years' experience in merchandising, retail design, or related field.
