Creates and drives technology roadmaps that align to the Walmart Central Operations' (WCO) strategy by developing technology roadmaps and aligning them to the broader WCO strategy and roadmap; identifying gaps and developing a technology plan to address these gaps; partnering with cross-functional leadership (for example, Application Development, Walmart Technology, Global eCommerce) to align technology objectives and goals; influencing cross-functional leadership on potential technology testing and implementation opportunities across the organization; influencing senior leadership to integrate new systems, processes and innovations into business practices; providing insight to senior leadership on the impact of technology innovations to the broader strategy; and recommending system innovation investments.
Drives new system design and innovation by benchmarking the industry to source new systems solutions and innovations; analyzing future trends and forecasts domestically and abroad in global markets to propose directional changes and new product approaches; determining needed solutions and overseeing the creation of alternative processes and initiatives; overseeing the technical evaluation or potential solutions, vendors, and tools; defining, communicating, and overseeing business process architecture, application, and user experience design to maintain simplicity and effectiveness; overseeing proof of concept and test and learn development and implementation; and evaluating results of tests in order to continue, adapt, or decommission the system.
Oversees technology innovation portfolio by working with senior leadership to understand requirements of project initiatives and growth opportunities; building and leading internal and external relationships with technology partners; providing guidance and direction for system design; steering projects through multiple project governance milestones (for example, investment approval, steering committee review); consolidating portfolio information and providing an overview to leadership; and making recommendations for strategy or technology activities.
