This role will be focused on the Marketplace Customer Experience, Traffic and Discovery platforms. Our team is growing, and we are looking for a highly motivated Principal Software Engineer who will play a critical role in the design and implementation of some of our core applications and their APIs. The Customer Experience, Traffic and Discovery platform team's mission is to offer a best-in-class, resilient, scalable and best in class ecosystem for Walmart partners.

In this role, you will drive projects of high visibility across the organizationwhileleadingthe work of other small groups of six to ten engineersacross geographies.You will develop highly scalable services to process millions of requests per day and solve complex software engineering problems by leveraging state-of-the-art technology.

About the team:

Marketplace Engineering team is at the forefront of building core platforms and services to enable Walmart to deliver vast selection at competitive prices and with best-in-class post-order experience by enabling third-party sellers to list, sell and manage their products to our customers on walmart.com. We do this by managing the entire seller lifecycle, monitoring customer experience, and deliver high- value insights to our sellers to help them plan their assortment, price, inventory. The team also actively collaborates with partner platform teams to ensure we continue to deliver the best experience to our sellers and our customers.

You'll make an impact by:

• Leadingteamsin designing systems and applications.

• Implement new architectural patterns and perform design and code reviews.

• Lead the discovery phase of projects to come up with the high-level design by partnering with the product management, project management, and business user experience and partner teams.

• Leads team projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions while gathering requested information.

• Designing and developing backend microservices and REST APIs for web applications using the JVM ecosystem (Java/Kotlin) and other languages and frameworks

• Solid experience in large scale distributed systems and event-driven architectures.

• Built and rolled outproducts that have spanned years of sustained use

• Developedengineeringvision and roadmap that your partners understand

• Developedinnovative strategies, processes, and best practiceswhileleading internal technical teams

What you'll bring..

• Over 10 years of experience in Technical Solutions Architecture and design leadership.

• Excellent knowledge of Operational Excellence concepts and practices

• Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, databases, operating systems, etc.

• Knowledge of industry best practices for code quality and architecture

• In-depth knowledge of Java, J2EE, Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, Docker, RESTful Web Services, GraphQL, Spring, Kubernetes

• Deep understanding of cloud technologies and designing solutions deployed to Azure and GCP.

• Experience in RESTful Microservices

• Container technologies such as Docker on Kubernetes

• Strong API design, development, and management

• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities

• Ability to multitask between several different requirements and features concurrently

• Experience with cloud native technology, CI/CD

• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs

• Superior analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude.
