Identifies opportunities to pursue new items and categories and improve customer experiences. Researches industry and macroeconomic trends (for example, commodity prices, unemployment rates, purchasing power) and changes in competitor strategies and offerings. Analyzes merchandise sales data and metrics (for example, item/category/department sales, turns, in stock) using appropriate tools, dashboards, and data sources in order to extract relevant information.
