What you'll do...
Analyzes and interprets data to support mid-to-large scale projects and/or multiple business area by identifying analysis and reporting requirements based on business needs; identifying needed reporting elements and related business key performance indicators (KPIs); defining data hierarchies, dependencies, and components of dimensions (for example, frequency, units of measure, granularity); gathering, synthesizing, and analyzing data; determining the best method for analyzing unrelated data and utilizing those methods; translating results into business actions; and using the data results to communicate the importance and impact of the business actions. Leading and providing insight on business intelligence and analytics tools and solutions by identifying approaches (for example, data visualization tools, analytics procedures) and determining which to use based on the business need; incorporating business strategies, data results, and technology capability into tool and solution development; overseeing and acting as a subject matter expert in the development pilot solutions and adjusting tool to solve for gaps and/or changes; overseeing and training team on testing and validating results to support implementation; interpreting data and results for business partners; collaborating with business partners to integrate results into actionable business changes; onboarding and managing external partners; and integrating third-party solutions into the Walmart environment. Manages cross-functional projects by contributing expertise and support across multiple functional areas; collaborating with project team and third-parties to build customized and adaptive solutions to the business problem; defining and communicating overall project success measures; analyzing and influencing actions based on the significance and impact of insights to project team; overseeing the development of and gaining buy-in on analysis and reporting requirements; reviewing data in order to understand and explain the relationship between the data and the success metrics; and integrating cross-functional data and results in order to develop business intelligence, reporting, and data visualization materials that influence key project stakeholder actions. Developing business intelligence and reporting solutions across multiple functional areas by researching, evaluating, and designing solutions based on business requirements and best practices; reviewing and providing feedback on update of business data and validating changes; acting as the subject matter expert in the creation of visual prototypes and design documentation; overseeing testing solutions and troubleshooting any issues; creating reports and visualization of information to effectively communicate results; providing insight on how to best build user training materials and support documentation; and incorporating research and developed solutions learnings into standards, processes, and best practice recommendations for the team. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
