Senior Manager I, Data Analytics - Customer Insights & Advanced Analytics

Position Summary

Walmart Connect (WMC) is building a robust in-house advertising business that’s key to Walmart’s growth strategy. We partner with top global and national retail brands on media strategies and solutions that harness Walmart’s unparalleled scale and omnichannel presence.  Customer Insights and Advanced Analysis (CIA) team plays a critical role in bringing customer behavior insights and trends to inform media strategy and investment by leveraging massive 1P online and in-store data, encompassing 90% of American households. CIA team partners closely with WMC Sales and Marketing organizations by delivering actionable customer and audience insights.  In this role, you will lead a team of data analysts to develop solutions for complex, ambiguous, and high-visibility business questions.  If you are an analytics leader with a passion for customer insights, omnichannel data, and retail industry, this is your next dream job!

  • Data Visualization – You are a pro at leveraging visualization to build compelling stories by integrating multiple datasets into cohesive insights.

Roles Specific Responsibilities

  • Lead WMC client engagement on customer and audience insights business questions in partnership with the Sales team for strategic partner accounts
  • Responsible for end-to-end analytics lifecycle from gaining alignment on learning agenda with clients to presenting actionable next steps and recommendations
  • Build analytics narratives by connecting the dots across various category level and brand specific trends to solve existing business challenges
  • Leverage various analytics techniques to perform complex analyses (cluster analysis, profiling and segmentation, custom audience creation, customer lifetime value, path to conversion and loyalty drivers)
  • Designs and implements predictive and statistical models to forecast future business performance leveraging advanced machine learning platforms.
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance to the team in creating and customizing models and metrics
  • Guide analytics framework discussions with team members, review outputs, extract key insights and translate into actionable recommendations
  • Excited to ideate, strategize and lead proof of concept analytics projects to test out innovative approaches and frameworks and seize the opportunity to monetize the product offering
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for improving existing data sources and engage with broader Walmart teams to acquire these sources within the Walmart Connect environment.
  • Live and breathe CIA vision and mission and committed to bring meaningful connections between client suppliers (retailers) and Walmart shoppers through relevant, timely and actionable customer and audience insights.

Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations research, Marketing analytics or any related quantitative field AND 8+ years of experience in analytics, consulting, retail, media, and relevant Industry
  • Option 2: Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations research, Marketing analytics or any related quantitative field AND 6+ years of experience in analytics, consulting, retail, media, and relevant Industry experience
  • Strong programming skills in R/Python and hands-on knowledge of SQL in Hive/Hadoop/Google Cloud Platform environments (must have hands on data analytics experience)
  • Experience managing both a team and your own individual contributor responsibilities.
  • Experience with customer segmentation, profiling, predictive modeling, inferential statistics, data mining techniques and regression modeling
  • Proven relationship management skills and experience establishing rapport, trust, and confidence with key stakeholders
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Highly proficient in developing ppt decks and presenting strategic, action-oriented recommendations from complex analyses
  • Thrives under pressure, balancing multiple workstreams and priorities
  • Interesting, multi-faceted personality who can deliver 5-star output and have FUN at work
  • Familiarity with Ad servers, DSPs, DMPs, onsite & offsite targeting, identity graphs a plus

Option 3: 5 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
