What you'll do...

Introduction

Sam’s Club is looking for a highly motivated supply chain professional with strong analytical skills, project, and program management skills to drive improvements in our eCommerce last mile delivery. In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders from Merchandising, Fulfillment operations, Strategy, Integrated Planning, and Finance to improve total delivery experience for Sam’s Club members.

This role is part of the Sam’s eComm Transportation team and reports to the Director, eComm Transportation Strategy & Operations. The role will be based in the San Bruno, California area.

What you’ll do…

  • Collaborate with transportation team and other functional areas including Merchandising, Planning, Network strategy, Finance, and Distribution Centers to identify, develop and implement opportunities impacting performance metrics, stability, scalability, efficiencies, costs, and controls of the Logistics Supply Chain
  • Design and implement transportation business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, develop new innovations and tools for carrier network capacity planning and management
  • Drive strategy and carrier network planning for all Sam’s club eComm orders. Analyze and interpret information, develop creative solutions, and ensure data accuracy for more initiative work streams.
  • Provide decision support by sourcing, organizing, analyzing, interpreting data, and providing insight on current and future transportation trends
  • Manage the development and improvement of new or existing operational tools, reports, and customer-facing functionality, providing subject matter expertise, and partnering cross-functionally with product management, merchandising, engineering, and other groups to drive projects
  • Direct the execution of projects, work streams, and programs by managing and modifying associated project plans; creating and managing task timelines; formatting and maintaining project data; organizing and facilitating communication materials to ensure successful rollouts and implementations; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance; accordingly, developing solutions and contingency plans
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open-Door Policy

What you’ll need…

  • Preferred master’s in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering
  • Experienced in verbal, written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
  • Advanced data analysis and Microsoft excel skills, experience with planning, and analytical tools Ex: SQL, Tableau, Power BI or similar
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross functional stake holders, influence decisions, and recommend a course of action based on data analytics
  • Ability to drive process improvement by implementing checks and balances and identifying process steps that can be automated

Preferred Qualifications…

  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in eCommerce supply chain, transportation planning, carrier management, and/or operations program management
  • Proven experience leading and managing complex, cross-organizational projects is critical, preferably in a supply chain/operations environment
  • Ability to think strategically about carrier networks, speed, cost, and performance tradeoffs for both short and long term
