You will work with a team of Risk Management, Information Security and Data Science professionals to analyze risks, solve business problems with data, develop complex models and build tools to enable risk-informed business decisions across Walmart Global Tech. Some days you will help to develop cyber risk measurement and management techniques to identify security gaps and weaknesses. On others, you might develop and use statistical tools to perform risk analyses. You’ll help to identify the impact of threats and vulnerabilities and the effect of different risk treatment options. One thing is for sure - each day you will be involved in solving problems at a scope and scale most people will never encounter. Who are you? • You’re an early career technologist who is well-versed in statistics and analytical modeling techniques. • Your degree and /or 2-4 years of experience is in statistics, mathematics, risk management, cybersecurity, information assurance, information technology, computer science or data and analytics. (or your recent academic work was directly related to data and analytics) • You enjoy using your experience with R, JavaScript, Java, Python, and spreadsheets to develop tools that will enable business thinking and growth. • You are comfortable talking about complex ideas in plain, understandable language. What do you NEED to have? • A logical and inquisitive mind unbound by existing convention. • The ability to work effectively when data is incomplete, ambiguous, or uncertain. • A sound understanding of information risk concepts, including threats, vulnerabilities, asset characteristics and controls. • A working knowledge of risk and decision modeling techniques (primarily FAIR) sufficient to connect mathematically modeled results to real-world actions • A desire to make a difference • The ability to distill complex ideas into concise, insightful, and appealing work products • Industry certifications or equivalent experience are a plus.
