(USA) Software Engineer III - Tech - GLASS

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Walmart Supply Chain Transportation group is looking for Software Engineer III to help build the next generation suite of applications to have impact on millions of users.

The individual should be self-motivated, come from a deep application development background, should have deep domain level understanding of Supply Chain Transportation systems including Pickup and Delivery Lifecyle and should possess hands on experience of building customer facing solutions at large scale. Should be able to collaborate closely with business and product stakeholder to build next generation cloud-based web applications.

Position Description:

• Work in medium to large-sized projects; gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirements, wire frames); writing and developing clean, testable, maintainable code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders.
• Collaborating with project team and cross functional teams; identifying areas of opportunity; interpreting information and identifying a solution; ensuring solution is sustainable across implementation and use; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; and ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs.
• Troubleshoot business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information, collaborating with cross functional support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; directing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; performs root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and completing online documentation.
• Basic systems knowledge and DevOps best practices , managing CI/CD pipelines, setting up interactive dashboards, monitor and alerts for production system; participate in code review for peers and junior associates; strive to incorporate industry best practices in the team.

Our Ideal Candidate will have these Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of industry experience in building robust and scalable Node.js based Web applications with strong foundation in data structures/algorithms with ability to write multi-thread concurrent code.
• Strong Compute Science , Linux/Unix Operating systems and Distributed systems fundamentals
• Experience in debugging, performance tuning and optimization for scalability and high availability
• Experience of working on relational databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL or NoSQL databases such as Azure CosmosDB/Cassandra/MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of Design patterns and ability to write unit/functional test cases.
• Basic understanding of React.js to build front-end user experience.
• Familiarity with Agile (Scrum Process)
• Self-starter with good communication skills. Able to operate in dynamic , fast-paced setup.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment
• Familiarity with Performance, A/B Testing and Automation Tools
