Staff Software Engineer – Health & Wellness
JOB DESCRIPTION
Walmart Health and Wellness is on a mission to build a cutting-edge customer facing digital experience to help customers manage their prescriptions & medications and take care of themselves and their loved ones with different health services. You will be a key member of the platform team and will be responsible for a wide range of backend features, initiatives, and enhancements. What you will do
- Design & develop highly scalable services and solve complex software systems problems by leveraging state-of-the-art technology
- Provide technical direction, architecture leadership and expertise to the team.
- Knowledge of open-source libraries, design patterns and micro-service architecture.
- Participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project, product and business requirements
- translating requirements into technical solutions, writing code and unit tests
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
- Play an active role in production operations and identity meaningful learnings from incidents
- Influence and educate the team with your experience, idea and learning
About you

You have these main skills:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 8+ years of experience
- Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, databases, operating systems, etc.
- Expertise in Java, Object Oriented & Functional Programming, Design Patterns
- Experience in coding and implementing scalable solutions in a large-scale distributed eco-system with Cloud Technologies like Azure and GCP
- Strong expertise in designing and building scalable APIs & cloud native microservices
- Experience using Kotlin and GraphQL
- Understanding of modern software development lifecycle with tools for continuous integration and progressive delivery
