    Position summary

    Overview

    The Principal Financial Analyst is a trusted business partner to the Consumables and Lab Automation Portfolio Owners  in enabling and delivering long term sustainable growth for the company.  This role is a key member of the Consumables and lab Automation team in deploying resources to create maximum value for the company. This position plays a critical role in the development and implementation of financial, strategic and growth objectives aimed to provide long term profitable growth for the company.

    Responsibilities

    • Primary business partner to the Consumables and lab Automation Portfolio Owners, supporting the management team in driving, establishing and achieving financial targets. Provides business and financial counsel to ensure that business objectives are attained.
    • Provides insights and analyses that assist the organization in making sound business decisions to enable sustainable revenue growth through full P&L management.
    • Partners with business leaders to develop the annual operating plan (AOP)
    • Supports all planning, month-end, and ad hoc financial analysis activities in assigned areas of focus
    • Identifies performance trends/financial risk and makes recommendations for improvement
    • Builds quality business cases, founded in data and validated assumptions, to justify spending.  
    • Drives cross-functional alignment, obtaining productivity and synergies
    • Delivers quality reporting, financial planning and finance processes
    • Fosters a culture of strong financial discipline and business integrity
    • Liaises with key stakeholders, such as WD finance, corporate finance, treasury, tax, legal, compliance to ensure alignment and effectiveness of the finance operations
    • Introduces measures and enhances existing controls to ensure that activities are processed by the company’s policies, procedures and in line with audit and compliance requirements
    • Develops innovative initiatives to enhance internal efficiency and effectiveness, using technology as an enabler.
    • Actively engages in promoting diversity and inclusion across the function

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Accounting or Finance; preferably MBA and/or CMA or CPA certification
    • 6-8 years of progressive finance experience
    • Proficient in US GAAP, SAP experience a plus
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
    • Experience in scaling growing business is strongly preferred
    • Operates with integrity, transparency and humility
    • Acts as a true company owner to advance the overall interests of Waters
    • Carries a broad global perspective of markets, tech, and trends
    • Balances clear strategic thinking and accountability in execution to deliver results
    • Actively creates the conditions for Waters’ people and teams to succeed
