Position summary

Ready to thrive in the next step on your career journey?

West Monroe is looking to hire a Lead Cybersecurity Consultant (Manager) to focus on delivering our CAPE offering – Cybersecurity Advisory for Private Equity – which could include security controls audits, risk/compliance assessments, threat hunting, and/or general strategy & operations. The manager will often lead consulting teams in interviewing client stakeholders to understand their IT structure and systems, identify security flaws, and deliver remediation solutions to harden the environment. As a technology-agnostic firm, consultants always have the chance to broaden their skillset while working with cutting edge technologies, homegrown tools, and modern processes/frameworks. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth company with an employee-centric culture and play a pivotal role in improving security posture across complex, client environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic cybersecurity advisory, due diligence, and consulting services for enterprise clients, ranging from policy definition to implementation, adoption, and enforcement
  • Deliver our CAPE program/offering – Cybersecurity Advisory for Private Equity – to provide ongoing visibility into security practices, risks, and threats across a PE firm’s entire asset portfolio
  • Manage client relationships and meet with executives to determine project requirements and provide status updates; translate requirements into concrete projects proposals, including detailed work plans and cost estimates
  • Leverage industry-accepted frameworks to lead current-state, risk & controls review of existing organization – compliance adherence, processes, personnel, and technologies – while developing implementation strategies and roadmaps to guide remediations and solution delivery
  • Oversee threat hunting across cloud and on-premise environments, translating threat intelligence to actionable hardening projects
  • Manage junior consultants on projects, delegate workstreams, and act as career advisor/mentor
  • Promote thought leadership in emerging cybersecurity technologies and consulting tactics through activities like blogs, white papers, attending industry events, and Center of Excellence contributions
  • Contribute to business development process ad hoc and look for opportunities to cross-sell solutions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required
  • Consulting firm/industry experience preferred
  • 6-10+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, Information Security, and/or Tech Consulting
  • Adept at leading IT security risk & controls assessments using frameworks such as NIST
  • Understanding of high-level application, database, and network security principles for risk identification, qualification, mitigation, and analysis
  • Preference for audit experience leveraging common compliance or privacy frameworks such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 1/2, SOX, GDPR, CCPA, etc.
  • Experience leading and contributing to delivery of end-to-end solutions: people management, strategy, design, solution development, implementation, change management, training, etc.
  • Confident in conveying complex cybersecurity concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives
  • Excellent verbal, presentation/facilitation, and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel for out of town client engagements – COVID-19 permitting
  • Bonus experience – threat hunting, DFIR, AWS/Azure, SOAR, application security, IT/cyber M&A
