Position summary

Position Overview

To lead the design, set up and transition activities for a new Finance and Shared Services Centre(SSC)/Centre of Excellence based in the UK and serving a European business in 14 countries. The role will be part of an overall Shared Services design and transition team led by the overall SSC Program Director.

  • Good knowledge of Finance processes in general
  • Experience of finance process operations and transformation in the context of a Shared Services Environment
  • Ability to design Shared Services processes in the context of an overall E2E SAP blueprint design activity working with the SAP and other teams
  • Ability to lead service design sessions for the customer facing processes of the shared service centre design
  • Ability to lead client teams in process design, solutioning and development of deliverables for the SSC design
  • Ability to plan and execute transition to the new SSC as part of an integrated roll out of the new processes and systems across the business
  • Ability to lead the client teams through the project lifecycle ensuring closure of SSC design deliverables in a timely manner and managing acceptance criteria
  • Ability to identify and manage the risks associated with SSC design and transition
  • Ability to support recruitment and onboarding of new staff into the SSC and manage them through transition to Go Live and autonomous operations

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate profile would be comprised of the following attributes

  • 10-15 years of visible impact senior-level Management Consulting experience in Finance Transformation, Finance Operations or Finance Shared Services
  • Understanding of key Finance processes
  • Proven experience in managing senior Client business stakeholders (COO/CIO -1)
  • Good understanding of key Finance tools particularly i.e. SAP and Blackline
  • Broad experience of Shared Service Centre design, set-up and operations
  • Experience of at least one Finance Shared Service Centre design, set-up and transition to operations
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prepare status reports, contribute to RAID logs etc. as part of a large program
  • Highly innovative and impact thinking in both business operating model transformation and technology
  • Experienced and comfortable in leading consulting engagements end to end with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication – written, presentation and verbal
  • Effective client engagement skills and ability to face off to senior client stakeholders
  • Ability to prepare and lead client workshops, capture, document, analyze and communicate information obtained during the workshop
  • Self-starter, passionate about results and a team player
