The Medical Education Specialist, E-Learning Programming & Development, through programming and application design experience, will accelerate the transfer of surgical procedure and product use skills and general orthopaedic knowledge to surgeons and the Zimmer Biomet organization.  Develop, monitor and work to continuously improve all Zimmer Biomet Institute programs and e-learning content.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop interactive content using 2D/3D animation applications including program-specific scripting languages and other development tools for various devices (e.g. PC, Mac, iPad, Android).
• Maintain components of the Zimmer Institute learning system/web site and develop enhanced online features and capabilities
• Assist in the development of e-learning programs and multimedia content to support the blended learning vision of the Zimmer Institute.  Includes coordinating programming efforts with visual and instructional elements with instructional designer and media artist.
• Manage the research and selection process for advanced learning content development tools and technologies (e.g. game-based technologies for use in creating immersive, learning programs). Assist with developing business justifications and rationales for their adoption
• Liaise with the ZBS department to develop and maintain Zimmer Institute applications and tools (iPad, SharePoint; etc.)

Technical Skills

• Develop programs using various scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript, VBScript, ActionScript)
• HTML
• XML
• C#, Visual Basic, C++, and/or equivalent programming background
• o    Adobe Design software preferred
• o    Microsoft Office

Education/Experience Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably including formal studies in computer programming, information technology, and/or computer sciences, required.  
• A minimum of 3 years of experience required.
• Experience in a general orthopaedic background is beneficial.    
• Working directly with customers, technical experts and professional staff in medical device or healthcare is also preferred.
