The successful candidate will work as a member of a team with responsibility for the introduction and transfer of products into and between Zimmer Biomet facilities. This role will involve the setting up of machining, finishing, cleaning and packaging processes. Working closely with the other team members, the candidate will ensure that the processes are set-up in accordance with the governing quality system regulations.
•Lead and/or assist transfer project plans and execution
•Assist with the development of machining, finishing and cleaning strategies
•Develop manufacturing instructions/operating procedures
•Development of inspection plans
•Develop PFMEA’s
•Generate validation documentation
•Execution validations
•Work with local manufacturing and planning to ensure that all activities are captured within the local planning process
•Development of capacity plans, understand constraints, develop capital plans where appropriate
•Ensure tasks/deliverables are achieved in line with the agreed project timeline and in accordance with local and global procedures and the transfer stage and gate processes

•Skilled and knowledgeable in manufacturing and new product processing
•Familiarity with control processes, such as the Change Management System (CMS), Zimmer Engineering Specifications (ZES, GES), Zimmer Work Instructions (ZWI, SOP, GSOP CP)
•Familiarity with drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
•Ability to handle project assignments of medium scope and complexity and able to prioritize and complete work in a timely manner
•Demonstrates good problem solving skills through the use of quality and statistical tools
•Ability to effectively work within a team and cross functionally to expedite completion of critical project tasks
•Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills
•The selected candidate will need to demonstrate a hands on approach to task execution within the project. In addition, the following skills will be considered advantageous:
Prior experience in product transfers or NPI
Prior experience in cleaning, passivation and packaging validations
Experience in manufacturing processes such as machining, finishing and polishing
Router/ BOM development
•BSc/BEng in Engineering or Science discipline, preferably Mechanical, Materials or equivalent discipline
Other
•Previous experience in manufacture of medical devices is essential. Orthopedic joint replacement products would be a distinct advantage
