I've worked here more than 10 years and have learned that you must be able to speak for and stand up for yourself. It is a male dominated culture on many levels and no matter how successful you may be, management is not open to new ways of thinking or different work styles that may be more effective for certain individuals or groups. Maybe. If you are strong willed and a go-getter you can do well in this company but you must be able to advocate for yourself because for the most part, male leadership will not do it for you.

I have worked for Microsoft for over 10 years. I enjoy my work, but what you read about Microsoft and their stack ranking system and how the company is run by HR is true. They mandate women have to be in interview loops above a certain level and this does not help the image of women or working towards diversity. Our CEO has had a few blunders in the press, and my personal sentiment is he is not people focused and the culture is still very cut throat at the expense of the business.
